Do we really want to see an HD model of Cait Sith? The cat alone looked amazingly stupid in Advent Children. Do we need to see the robot-gift machine as well?

Well colour me disinterested unless they totally redub the game...the voice acting sucked. I might get it if its really cheap on the Vita, otherwise I'll stick to my PS2 version. I like the HD versions because some of the games I don't have and missed out when I was younger (like God of War for example, my parents looked at the ESRB ratings on the box
) So a console version isn't really needed for me. But I do like portable games more so perhaps. But first I have to get a Vita, which may be awhile.

Good point about the dub, it hasn't aged well. Not at all.
HA HA HA HA HAAAA
God I hated these characters.

The VA for most of the cast was tolerable; I personally enjoyed the dub for Lulu, Jecht an' Wakka (in Wakka's case I preferred it over the JP VA). But of all the people, the two worst dubs just had to be the two main characters... I mean seriously!? WTF!?

Saying it hasn't aged well implies it was good even by 2001 standards.
I've honestly felt that the HA HA HA scene was a really poor example for the voice acting. I mean the entire scene makes it pretty obvious that it's SUPPOSED to be awkward, so it seems kinda silly to me.
I'm not saying the voice acting is GOOD mind you, because it's certainly not, I'm just saying that's not necessarily the best example of that.
Besides, have you ever heard it in japanese? It sounds just as bad, if not worse
I gotta agree with Tidus and Yuna being the real weak links in the english cast though. Tidus had a nasally voice and added a whiny inflection to everything while Yuna spoke every line like a robot that was short of breath.

You sound very contradicting there. lol.
But yeah that scene in Japanese sounded just as bad. How about an option to completely turn the voices off!
Tidus and Yuna suck in general anyways.

Probably because I actually kinda like the game. That battle system is fun as hell, what can I say?

This is what gets me too. I almost want to dislike the game, but god damn that battle system was just greatness. Auron pulled me through the game as well.AppleQueso wrote:That battle system is fun as hell, what can I say?

lol, I've said it a lot but I guess not in this thread so far... but yeah I agree, it's a very polarizing game to me as well. Probably has one of my least favorite cast of characters in the whole series and I didn't like the story much at all, HATED Seymour, but the gameplay, music, levels (loved the temples) and all that were pretty damn good. Heck I could probably replay it unlike my failed replay of FFVIII earlier this year... haha.
I liked the Sphere Grid too. That and the License Board made me hate FFXIII's Crystarium, because it was pretty much the same thing but with a stupid menu design and had no flexibility whatsoever. The menu for it should've just been a damn straight line.

My feelings for X are pretty much the same as everyone else's. Crap story and characters, and fun gameplay. Sadly though while most genres that is more focused on the gameplay, it isn't really the forefront for RPGs. You need a good mix of both.
Now I'm curious, would you rather play a RPG with an amazing cast and characters, but subpar gameplay, or a RPG with a mediocre cast and characters, but had totally awesome gameplay?
