People buying games based on Box Art is why the Master System stood no chance against the NES in the US.

I often see Master System's entire library listed on Top 10 Worst Box Art lists. They were incredibly bland. At least Sega learned their lesson, they went from this

Anyone from So-Cal remember Fedco? One of the last NES games my folks bought for me was SMB3 - I'm so fond of that memory simply because the boxart literally popped off the shelf compared to the other games. It's so iconic; the ONLY surviving boxed NES game from my childhood ... wish I still had the manual, though :)
