Definitely these. I'd like to see more attempts at 'games as art', which is something that's really picked up this generation. I'm excited to see more 'interactive digital art' that isn't even appropriately described as a 'game'.

That being said, I also look forward to more of the counter-argument to art games. I like these games that make everything over-the-top and crazy and only care about being fun and weird. This generation I think games like Onechanbara, Shadows of the Damned, Lollipop Chainsaw, Dead Rising, and God Hand have all played to this idea of just not giving a fuck and being mad pulp fun for immature grown up audiences.

I agree TOTALLY. Catherine was a good example of a Mature game that was more mature meaning "seasoned" than mature meaning "tits-n-ass." And I welcome that sort of story in more games. (the thought of kids buying Catherine based on its cover art makes me think of that Simpsons episode where the cool kids were sneaking off to see Barton Fink.)

And on the flip, I love shit like Onechanbara, Shadows of the Damned & Lollipop Chainsaw. Bring on the insanity.

yeah I said I was all for that too (Onechenbara, Lollipop Chainsaw). But you're saying you can't handle something sexual, emotional, or etc that's a bit more cerebral as well?

Sure, if it's entertaining. But I'm not against pure exploitation either.
