I agree about the 360 case smell. It remains as my only incentive to buy 360 games new.The Last Horseman wrote:I also like the smell of a brand new Xbox 360 case, I can't describe it. Video games have so many good smells!
Oh, and the smell of grape gum stuck to the underside of the arcade cabinets button deck...

Re: Gamecube Smell
I always hear people going on about the smell of new games/consoles. I honestly can never smell anything. :S. I don't have a very good sense of smell anyway, but I still don't get what smell they're on about

I know its not a burner, just cracking a joke.Hobie-wan wrote:Definitely not. Reading lasers don't have that much power and with the disc spinning it definitely coudln't heat up any spot enough. Even if Tim Taylor got hold of it and supercharged it, if it was burning the discs, they would all have stopped working.CRTGAMER wrote:Maybe the POT is set wrong and the laser is burning the disc .........
How about sounds of various consoles? Does anyone love the sounds of the Dreamcast clanking, that kick right before a battle in Skies of Arcadia?

Nothing gears me up for a game session more than hearing these sounds. I guess it reminds me of the day I got it when I thought that it was broken

Yes. It's just O3. Electromagnetic activity can cause O3 to form out of the oxygen atoms in the air, but it dissipates quickly because O3 is less stable than O2, H2O, or CO2. Electric motors in particular can generate low levels of ozone. It has a very distinctive odor that many people associate with electronics without knowing what it actually is.Incognito D wrote:ozone as in the same gas that makes up the O-Zone layer?

Re: Gamecube Smell
My doctor said I was "especially adapted to smelling things that most people can't". I have an odd feeling this is why I smell things and people don't know what I'm talking about...

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.
