Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Ikaruga
Soul Calibur
Grandia 2 or Skies of Arcadia (Skies is much better overall but too many random battles for my liking)
Rayman 2 (this is the best version of this spectacular, overlooked platformer!)

Shenmue? No way, that game is massively overrated. It's not even really a game, you just walk around and talk to people, over and over and over again. Oh, and yes, you get to work a stupid boring job, and have to worry about a ridiculous curfew. Oh yes, making a REALISTIC game. That was REAL smart.

If I gave an objective answer to the question posed by this topic, I'd say Soul Calibur, still considered to be one of, if not the best 3-d fighter by many people, and it's not like the sequels added much. It seems to be the only game that has truly outlived the Dreamcast since the Soul Calibur games are still popular now.

Hard to say what my personal favorite DC game was though

Regarding De La Jet Set Radio, I believe it is just the US version, there some info on it here:

And yeah, I agree JSR had its flaws, so did the Xbox remake. Still great games though. They had heart, artistic merit and originality

crazy taxi 2 (even though it didn't have bad religion in it)
power stone 2
samba de amigo
tech romancer

I guess a post like that shows how much shenmue polarizes gamers. I for one love the shenmue games and infact they were the original reason i bought a DC . Even though I have since found other reasons for loving it. All of the posts have revealed exelent choices from a diverse range of genres ,but when all is said and done the real question should be what kind of games do you like? With this info it may be easier to make a recommendation. :)

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Rez is #1 but I prefer the PS2 version with Trance Vibrator ( I really don't, but I wanted to type trance vibrator)

Probably Crazi Taxi. When that game was out it was nearly unbeatable for fun factor. Really a AAA game in the style of a SEGA long lost.

Kind of funny you say that - cause there is a Japanese Dreamcast preview/demo disc for Shenmue called "What's Shenmue". Guess a lot of people were asking :)

Certainly not for everyone as I said. For me one of the reasons I enjoyed it because it is so realistic. Not to mention the graphics were top notch the day - and the musical score and sound was amazing. I still have yet to see a game that surpasses the original Shenmue in the music department.

Ikaruga, Virtua Fighter 3TB, Crazy Taxi, Skies of Arcadia, and Grandia 2 are among some of my other favorite picks.

BANG MY FUCKING O!!!!!!!!!!

ermmm... I mean. Bangai-O

Get it NOW!

------

I've wasted hours on mass loads of games for this console. Many people have already listed the highlights of my gaming endeavors on this wonderful machine:
Rez
Skies of Arcadia
Jet Grind Radio
Grandia 2
ikaruga
Soul Calibur
the normal ones

But dang, at the low price (and if you feeling frisky... pow) you can get games for this console. Just buy them up, you will not be let down. There's some crap in there of course, but those games usually go for a dollar or 2 anyways... and hey, you might actually enjoy some of them anyways.

others titles I just love that are small and cutesy:

Mr. Driller
Chu Chu Rocket

and others

OutTrigger (really small FPS, I actually love it)
E.G.G. (elemental gimmick gear)... really addicting Zelda clone
Evolution (if your into level grinding, LOTS of level grinding)

Seventh Cross Evolution ... - ok, this game is the weirdest in the bunch. Freakin' WEIRD. And figuring out how exactly to play this pile of I don't know what takes ages. You'll probably spend the first 30 minutes just crusing around as an amoeba dieing repeatedly just hoping, yes hoping you find something to eat before that damn CRAB eats your little behind. FUCK THAT CRAB. But once you get that, and you start messing with the whacked out genome system, and the mangled ass body parts you slap on yourself... oh and the nonsensical story line that just drags you through thousands of years of nonsense and a weird floating silver lady/guy/hermaphrodite god thing. Oh my FUCK this thing is retarded... and ADDICTING!
