I honestly don't get people's infatuation with the Playstation controller. Sony haven't bothered to fix it's glaring flaws for nigh on 10 years now. Terrible dpad, sticks have improved but still not great, terrible analogue triggers and to top it all off, an internal battery that is a bastard to get to. Seriously, have any of you tried to open a DS3? It's a fucking nightmare I just gave up in the end. The sixaxis practically falls apart but getting into a DS3 is like breaking into Fort Knox.avrame wrote:Stark wrote:I don't want to threadjack either, but I far prefer the 360 controller to the DualShock. Especially with the analog sticks. Just interesting how things like that can vary so much from person to person. Must be frustrating for developing the things.darth_blunted wrote:I have the Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless reciever for windows model 1086. Says Microsoft across the top. I got it a long time ago along with 2 controllers. The controllers are crap but the usb dongle has been flawless in operation.
I now own a xbox360(sorry I like sony better not starting flame war)
Does it work? Yes!
Shame Microsoft can't copy sega dreamcast controllers properly. I mean really how did they mess that up? Never lay one of these controllers upside down for a min.
So my only complaint isnt with the dongle but those crappy ass xbox 360 controllers. Even the new controller fox the xbox 360 is messed up (my xbox is only 2 months old) the black is nice but still the sticks blow! Good thing I can set the deadspace on my pc or my player will just move while the stick is centered.
Ditto, I love the 360 controller, the perfect controller in my opinion. Fits right in my hands, good weight with the batteries, (I love AA batteries, just swap them out if it dies, and you are good), and the asymmetric analogsticks is more comfortable to me than a DS3.
As for the character moving on its own, just adjust your deadzone. Not too big a deal.
Any one use a 360 Wireless receiver?

Re: Any one use a 360 Wireless receiver?
The only reason I made a comment about the lousy xbox controllers is because they are used with the Wireless reciever.
Otherwise I would have not said anything about them. I stated I like Sony better than Microsoft and also stated I wasnt trying to start a flame war.
Now it seems I am at sea Trolling with my troller....The bait has been set!!!!
I gave my honest opinion on the wireless product which this thread is about. Then I gave my honest opinion on The Xjunk controller which is clearly stolen ideas from Sega's Dreamcast controller.
Then I did state I can set the deadspace for my pc but if there is a setting I am missing on the Xbox 360 to fix a centered stick please direct me to it, I have a Brand new controller that just moves left????
I am not hating on Microsoft, because if i was I would have bashed the wireless reciever also.
Otherwise I would have not said anything about them. I stated I like Sony better than Microsoft and also stated I wasnt trying to start a flame war.

Sorry about that. I was just giving my input untill they seen I said bad things about a controller.Hobie-wan wrote:Hey, so WHAT ABOUT THOSE WIRELESS RECEIVERS EH? Good thing Fast got an answer before the thread turned to fertilizer.
I will not be talking to Niode again.
