Firefox 4 sucks (>_<)
Re: Firefox 4 sucks (>_<)
There's not a single browser I like anymore. Chrome has massive problems with tertiary support (like Flash), and Firefox is buggy still. Firefox 3 is bloated as it always was, IE still sucks, and Opera (at least as of last summer) can't handle javascript as well as the others, among many other problems. Whatever happened to sleek and solid? Now just having about 10 tabs open instantly uses way more memory than FF3 with 80 tabs open. Blah.

Yeah, that's the one I found for the status bar.dsheinem wrote:Very helpful post, Ack. Here's what else you want: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... us-4-evar/

Thanks for this. I still prefer Firefox 3 though.Ack wrote:Oh hey, responding again really quick to tell Inazuma that I've found a way to customize the layout for your various buttons. If you enter their weird hanging menu and look into the "Options" command, you can turn off the "Tabs on Top" option, and turn on the "Menu Bar," which reverts you to the traditional File Edit View menu bar that I prefer.
Once this is done, there is an option under View and then Toolbars that says "Customize," where you can click and drag icons to change their position to return it to a more normal setting. So now I have refresh, home, and the various others sitting up in their older placement. It still hasn't quit with the URL thing in the lower left-hand of the corner, but it feels a lot better.

With the Magic Mouse I just swipe back and forward, and I've never owned a mouse that didn't have back/forward buttons on the mouse.
I use Chrome though, so all my buttons are located conveniently close to each other. If I ever actually felt the need to use them.

I actually like it
I find the layout being simplified is a good thing so I have more room for the actual webpage and its not being clogged up by too much stuff.
As for the add-on's, non of them worked for me as soon as I installed 4 but after a few days after a few little updates they all worked fine.
Also on another note, versions before 4 had a terrible start up time for me. This actually drove me away from Firefox to Chrome until I started having irritating Flash problems so I went back to Firefox. I figured bad start up times were better than most of the shit not working at all. As of installing 4 I've had no bad start up times.

Re: Firefox 4 sucks (>_<)
I have had little to no problems using Firefox 4 on my Mac. I do use Chrome when I use Windows though, but that isn't very often. The only thing I don't like about FF4 is where the refresh button is, but it's just as easy to scroll to the address bar and just hit return to reload it.

Yeah, everything seems to run a bit slower now. Not liking it one bit.

You can do some tweaks to speed up firefox, make it display before pages are finish loading, etc.BurningDoom wrote:Yeah, everything seems to run a bit slower now. Not liking it one bit.
Google it.
Re: Firefox 4 sucks (>_<)
Its not as bad as people making it out to be you can still customise it.
Heck i didn't have to do a think when I upgraded it kept all my previous settings in fact I had to tell it to use the new settings so I could test them out. In all honesty the new features have been done better in other browsers like Opera's 1 menu but the browser works pretty well and still much faster than Internet Explorer from my experience.
I think I said it before but Chrome is too minimalistic for me and nothing is where I like it to be.

Why must chrome's tab layout have to be copied it's not that great.
