I vividly remember in Zelda II... but I'm blanking on Zelda I.... and woulnd't the first Zelda be before DQ1?

Not a game, but I definitely remember Dragon Quest slimes showing up in the Negima manga.

Honestly, I can't think of many cases of borderline copyright-infringement with the DQ slimes in video games, probably for that very reason. Might have to look to pirate carts or homebrews.

funny I feel like in my mind -- the SLIME CONCEPT has been re-used so much. But no one can really think of examples other than 3D Dot eh?

I might be crazy, but I'm pretty sure the first zelda predates the first DQ by just a few months.

Also, that slime controller always looked really uncomfortable to me.

What about the first 2 I mentioned?

There's also slimes in the 3D Zelda games as well.
