Oh come now, they're not that bad. If you get pissed off because you failed to follow the "save early, save often" mantra, it's not Sierra's fault. It's printed in the manual.
There is no way on ______'s (insert favorite deity, scientist, or atomic particle here) green earth that anyone could think the answer to this puzzle is rational and would come to you after just 'thinking about it' for a while. *spoilers*

1) Beating my first 10-footer in DDR (Three or four years ago)

I think it marked my entrance in the realm of hardcore players and paved the way to other milestones.

2) Organizing my first Super Smash Bros Brawl tournament (Three or four years ago)

Led the way to a dedicated cultural organization focused on competitive play.

3) Beating Moonlight CZ and Canon D CZ no bar in Pump it Up (One and a half years ago)

Hardest musical challenges I have beaten. I don't think I can beat them anymore.

4) Joining my first clan for TF2 competitive play (Two years ago)

I never really thought about going "pro" until then. I used to be laughably bad at FPS too, and thought that the shotgun was the best weapon in Counter-Strike.

5) Started writing and analizing games in my free time (Half a year ago)

I actually started to write reviews long before I had a blog. I simply enjoy writting.

6) Bought my first gamer's boardgame: Steam: Rails to riches (One month ago)

So yeah, I'm geekier than ever. 8)

Active for playing: All mario (primary titles - not mario party/kart stuff) games. Last up is Mario Galaxy 2 and then i'm set and awaiting a new title. I'm up to speed on all the Zelda games (not including handhelds) with the exception of Majora's Mask and Four Swords - i've given up on that game (MM) 1/2 a dozen times over the years. I want to love it, but I get stuck so often that I hate it.
a man after my own obsessive heart. what about the metroid series? not a fan?
Collecting Goals - I am 3 titles away from the Virtual Boy Library
with you on that as well, although it's more of a long-term goal than some of my other ones b/c quite frankly the games just aren't that great. have you played many of them yet?
...and inspired by this thread: I really want to experience the gba link capabilities. I have the games for it, I have the cables, just haven't gotten into it yet, but now I will. Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles, Zelda 4 Swords, and for fun, Pacman Versus.
too bad you don't live near me; i'm be totally down with that. i've dipped into all 3 of those, but i don't have enough gaming buddies to actually have the full experience.

I haven't played Minish Cap or Phantom Hourglass, but I really think you are missing out if you don't at least play Link's Awakening.

Once I'm done with my classes for the semester, which will be on 5/16/11, I am going to attempt to beat some of the Zelda games. The only one I have ever completed is the original NES game so I'm going to start with Zelda II on NES, then work through all the hand helds, and N64. After that I MIGHT attempt any GC and Wii games that are out there but I want to get through the others first since the hand held games is going to be a challenge since there seems to be quite a few. Plus I don't know how long it will take to complete any of these so time is a big factor here too.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Sure, that's a bad puzzle. But most adventure games contain some bad puzzles. The loos plank in MI1, the gemstone puzzle in Kyrandia, or the damn goat in Broken Sword, for instance. I won't claim that Roberta Williams is a saint or anything, just that the games are still quite playable.

My ultimate milestone is to high score/beat every game supported in Mame. I tried it for two years and got through the C's. It was just really time consuming and had little to no reward. I will pick it back up in a couple years and probably write it like a gaming journal.

Achieved milestones:
Hosted a sizable Lanparty/tournament (more than 50 attendees)
Won a set of 3, 10 Player Bomberman games
Won several tournaments (mostly late 90s FPS and one Smash64 tourney)
Have an article be number one on digg
Have someone tell me I need to read one of my articles so I can learn something
Beat Bubble Bobble the real way
Beat all 50 states in Rampage on the NES
Beat Ack in SF Alpha 2
Beat Zelda Four Swords GC with 4 people on 5 tvs

Milestones in the pipe:
Beat all Scumm games - I had to cheat on the turtle puzzle in the Dig, but other than that mostly no guide.
Beat all of the Metroid games
Beat Mechwarrior 2
Win several games of Descent 2 in a row

Since i'm not savvy enough to separate quotes - here goes...

I enjoy Metroid - but to say i'm a fan would be insulting to other fans, it's prob in my top 20 series, but not top 5-10.

Virtual Boy - played them all save the ones I don't have (SD Gundam Dimension Wars, Jack Bros, and Virtual Fishing). Yeah, alot of it was forced for sure. I enjoy Mario Clash and 3D Tetris/Panic Bomberman to a slightly lesser degree.

Road Trip??? I actually got a chance to play Windwaker w/another person using the gba cable, makes some of the fortresses much easier to get through. Still need a 4-person experience on the others though.
