Was thinking this too...

Not to be a jerk, but surely the answer to your questions is somewhere one of the 12+ FAQs there.

Exactly. The first one I pulled up was the largest one and it was a wall of text. The next largest one I pulled up was this one:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/gba/914982-metr ... faqs/60237

It even has nice little ASCII maps.

Now I have never played this game but first tried searching for "slug". No hits. Then I tried Norfair and there's a bunch of hits. Then I scrolled down until I hit the section just before the section on the Boss Ridley. A few paragraphs before, there's this text:
- In this peculiar room with ominous music, you'll find a worm above. To kill
it, you must need Wave Beam. Get under it and shoot its belly until it is
gone. Roll up past where it was to find another worm/larva whatever. However,
you can't kill this with the Beam. What you have to do is have some master
baiting skills. Make it rush towards you to attack, but plant Bombs in your
wake as you move back left. The Bombs should explode onto the larva's belly
and damage it until it's dead.
I suspect that is what you're looking for.

I think that's a little after...they would still need to acquire the wave beam, which I'm sure the FAQ details.

This is later in the game. She has encountered the worms from opposite side of the room and can not do anything from that side.

I wonder if you accidentally skipped something.

Close, but no cigar. That is in a later room with a different slug. There is no way to get underneath this slug. I already looked through a few FAQs, and haven't found much help yet.

Here's the video. Sorry about the annoying TV background noise, and the noise from the buttons; I had to hold the camera with one hand and play with the other.

Oh, the map I have does not show that missle block.

Anyways, I know what you need to do now. On your map you posted, you need to get to the chozo room just above and to the left of the one you are below. From there you can take a loop around (rather long) to the other side of the slug room where you can kill them. Once you do that you will have enough room to speed boost through the floor. Do you have the space jump? Its the easiest way to get up there again.

Edit: Or just get in the nearby cannon to go back up and then speed boost back down to the door (how I assume you got down in the first place).

What? Is there a secret bombable block in that Chozo room?

Not really secret, its the room that you get the high jump in, you can just roll under the statue to the next area.
