Virtual PC is like a PC, but virtual. It's an application that pretends to be a PC. Though if you don't like DOSBOX, you definitely won't like any virtualization app. DOSBOX is about as streamlined as they come.

Virtual PC lets you run another OS inside a Window. So basically, it lets you run Windows 98 in a window on Windows XP.

DOSBox weird eh? Thats how people used computers in the 80's and early 90's. It's not all that hard actually, as long as you can type fast. There's also plenty of tutorials online.

Then again, I've been using DOS (and DOSBox) for about 13 years. Which is still a lot less than some of the people here, but, it's more than most people my age.

thanks! both of you!

And I don't only dislike the command line, but the way you have to set up the emulation is weird. And since I don't understand how to change it, I just play the game badly emulated.

What do you mean badly emulated? Speed? Sound Issues? Are you sure you're setting up the games properly?

Well, maybe you're just better off sticking with a console? There's something to be said for the simplicity of it.

My biggest complaint is the sound... and there's this one game that tells me i have to change the sound options to play the game but i have no idea how.. i tried googling it and nuthin..

there's also one game that said it's copy righted and it said "no help" (Don't judge me!!)

and some games don't work at all..

i also downloaded the trial version of TAME thinking "if it's good enough, I'll buy it" but it didn't work :(

i think i would be better off buying another computer wouldn't I? lol

I think you'd be better off not buying any old computers to be honest. Look for some tutorials for DOSBox on line and just keep playing around with it. Regardless if you get a DOS, 95, or 98 machine, you'll still have to deal with lots of shit you probably don't care to deal with, and, why waste money on a machine you'll get frustrated with and just leave in a closet anyway?

I was started on the computer early, and with DOS. My dad set me up with a computer and a few games, with the ways to get to them written on a sticky note.

I was a "gifted" child as some would say.
