Yeah, you're right. Those two are perfect examples. Man I could do a whole thread on these guys. Awesome music!racketboy wrote:

I'm realizing now that I haven't given Crystal Castles a fair enough chance. I first heard of them when they toured with Nine Inch Nails several years ago, but I didn't really care for what I heard at the time. Some of their music is starting to grow on me now though.
EDIT: Thankfully, they made it a lot easier for me to give them another listen by providing a link off of their official website that leads to all these mp3s:

Isn't it great? I mentioned chiptunes on a local drum n bass forum I post on and someone recommended that. I'm really impressed.Gamerforlife wrote:Wow, I'm REALLY impressed by she! Some amazing music
I've heard the Crystal Castles song with Robert Smith. It's pretty cool. I've been listening to some of the Crystal Castles stuff I downloaded off the link on their website throughout the day. I'm actually really liking them now. I'm not sure why it didn't hit me quite right before. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for it at the time. I remember not liking how lo-fi and grainy the sound was, but now that's sort of what I'm liking about it. It feels rioutous and punk. It reminds me of the riot grrrl music I used to love in the early 90s, but twisted through an 8-bit processor.
SoulEye is another guy worth checking out. He did the soundtrack to VVVVVV and has a bunch of free mp3s on his site:

All that video needs is a cameo by Nathan with some Neo Geo/Dreamcast love and I'd give it a ten!J T wrote:I can't get enough of this tune and I love the video.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but anyone going to BlipFest next month?
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

This is a massive 51 track album of various chiptunes artists. It's free or pay what you want. There is a lot of excellent music on this, so I'm bumping my old thread from last year because this can help introduce people to a lot of new and really great chiptunes artists.
