I go to GameFAQS to read... surprise, surprise, FAQS (and cheats, sometimes). I've been going there since long before Gamespot took it over.

I don't look at Gamespot and have never bothered with their forums. I read them years ago, but their reviews annoy me. Knowing that they fire people when they try to give an honest opinion instead of giving false reviews because they were paid off keeps me from caring at all.

Same here, probably why I forget about the merger. As for the forums I've never looked at any of their main ones or anything, like I said above I'll just check them out for some obscure older games from time to time and they seem just fine.

If I ever start to think that people in general are intelligent I usually go to the Gamespot forums or a Yahoo News comment section.

A good way to put things into perspective.

But yeah, the GFAQs forums are generally pretty awful. Like other posters said, the boards for some more obscure games can be a decent place to have discussion. Gamespot as a whole is a pretty lousy site to use as a resource. I hold it in much higher esteem than IGN these days, but that's not saying much.

I just remembered, the last time I visited GameFAQs's forums was when Final Fantasy XIII got announced on Xbox 360.

All those posts about how Squaresoft has 'betrayed' them were amazing.

Lol, I wonder if anyone complained that much when Squaresoft 'betrayed' them by jumping ship from Nintendo to Sony when FFVII was announced for Playstation.
