Can't help but think Napoleon Dynamite when he goes to a thrift store to buy a suit for his ball, only to find it a whole $11... so he steals it.

I found this Monopoly board game in the thrift store. I almost touch board game until I realize it was a gay version. I found out it was a gay thrift shop, nothing special or neat go in. There sega genesis games were over priced, but they were crappy games.
I've been to this one thrift store that doesn't really get much video games except one time I bought ps1 console with games and I only wanted resident evil 2 game. It did come with a copy of Final Fantasy 7 GH.

Shoot i would buy everything at the thrift store if I could. I don't see any point buying new anymore, unless it's something special and needing warranty and service or something. But other things especially furniture or clothes i would check the thrift first because nothing is made like it's used to anymore, half the department store stuff is made in china garbage that'll last you a year anyway. I found some great denim in thrift stores and coats as well. t-shirts or thin cotton stuff i wouldnt probably buy used, that stuff is cheap already new, but the heavy sweaters and denim and suitcases are always great buys.

I've bought a few clothing items from thrift stores. Just wash them before wearing just in case. All of my combat boots are used as they're hella expensive new and better broken in. One paint splattered and thrashed pair that I traded for in high school which are the crappy ones for messy or scratchy use, my dad's vintage from when he was in the army, set of German paratrooper boots, another German pair, and some insulated US ones.

I have been fortunate enough to post a lot of great video game finds in the "Finds of the Day" thread, and since I'm a very avid thrift store shopper I thought this would be a good place to share some of the non-game related things I found this week, because they are awesome. And they might be relevant to some of the other members:

If you're a wrestling fan, and well aware of the cottage industry of pro-wrestling biographies that has exploded in the last decade you'll enjoy this:

Hardcover books were $2.00, paperbacks $1.00. A few of the weirder books (like Judo Gene LeBell's and Penny Banner's) have their autographs in them with inscriptions to someone named "Matt". My name is Eric so unfortunately I can't even play pretend like I met them.

and for you comic fans:

I found all of these in the children's book section. Luckily they were all grouped together so I could tell what they were from a mile away. 25¢ each.

The thrift store is where my parents found my 1st game system... the Odyssey. It was in a torn up cardboard box with about 10 games. Don't remember all of them but I do remember Invasion, Wipeout, Simon Says, Baseball, and Football. For 50 cents. That was 27 years ago but still, it turned me into the gaming wombat I am today.
Beware the wombats...

GCN: Zelda: The Wind Waker
360: Assassin's Creed 2

I am mayor of one of the local Goodwills on Foursquare! I get a lot of clothes there.

I haven't been too lucky with thrift store videogames though. I think they take them to the used game store down the street.
