D-Pad or Thumbstick?

I like the tight control of the d-pad a lot more. Especially for fighting, 2d games, and puzzle games.

I have an arcade stick I modded with sanwa/seimitsu parts but I usually just use the Dualshock. I just enjoyed the actual experience of modding it more than playing with it.

I much prefer the analog stick for 3d platformers and 3rd person games, especially later ones, like on ps3.

Edit: I'm curious as to which sticks, d-pads whatever people like most. I'm sure that's been covered before, but what the hell.

I love the Playstation d-pads. I know most people will say Saturn.

As a general rule I like the D-Pads, its just what I've always used.
Although for FPS's and racing games on current gen console I prefer to use the sticks, they just have the better precision that I need when playing those games.
