Speaking of childhood, anyone even have a case of lockjaw? I got that way back in middle school from improper posture when playing my saxophone. My jaw was locked in the open position for roughly 12 hours, hella uncomfortable.

Then again, I knew a bud of mine that had lockjaw with his jaw in the closed position. I could only imagine that is about a million times worse. At least I could talk :S
Wow, I have had lockjaw for a couple minutes at a time (similar case, improper mouth positioning while playing the trumpet). I can't imagine 12 hours, extremely painful!

All I've got is this sexy varicocele (don't look it up on any image-searches, the surgery pictures you'll get are far more disturbing than the condition itself). Basically, if you didn't know, the testes are suspended by a wound cord of veins -- my veins are a bit tangled on my lefticle. This causes the veins to become inflamed and enlarge, so I have these sizable, lumpy veins popping out on the back of my lefticle. It's not so bad, because it "goes away" when I'm lying down or sexually aroused, and at its worst it only pops about about half an inch (and it's rare when it gets that bad, thankfully). Still, it makes me REALLY sensitive to any pain or discomfort down there... I mean, not that every guy isn't, but I'm particularly moreso... and aesthetically it's not that pleasing, although it's not like people are just constantly staring at the back of my testicles. Hahaha, I haven't been sexually active for years now, but I was lucky to have had a girl who legitimately "thought it was cool."

I sometimes get sick during finals week, I hate it. One time I got the whooping couch for 3 months it was too much for me, stayed indoors for a long time. Mass media news started to report about it a year later. My doctor knew nothing about whooping couch. During the whooping couch I sometimes had some unusual breathing or choking problems when I was asleep. I do recall when I was little... I would panic because I couldn't breath and got out of bed into restroom to drink some water from the sink. I got sick one time eating Japanese food and yogurt... the next morning I was in so much pain it felt like a near death experience. I was sweating so much and couldn't move much. So I sat down like if I was inside of a box for a few hours and got better somehow, aspirin didn't help this time all and a friend of mine got the same illness as me. I use to get rashes on my arm that I didn't know how I got them, skin condition. the skin condition only happened during winter seasons, but haven't one ever since then.

During winter I got sick but I was getting better before I left the states. The next morning I woke up with a terrible cold sore (fat lip on top side ). Had sort throat and back pain. Never had a serious pack issue before, but I decided to crack my back for a good around. I noticed my cousin were new and unconformable while there old one was downstairs. My cousins didn't want to tell me why I got the cold sore, suspicious.

I don't have any particular weird ones. I had Zona on my back (mostly shoulder plates) during a particular exam season, which was a bit annoying. But I hear this is not uncommon for anyone who had chicken pox (same virus).

I looked up a couple of symptoms to present here instead:

Does anyone here get dizzy regularly when getting up from bed or from sitting? In the strongest expressions of it, vision blacks out almost entirely and you sort of stand still for several seconds.

Does anyone here see flashes of light when in bed trying to sleep and hearing a sudden noise?

Yes I do get this exactly sometime rarely. It almost feels like your going black out with your eye vision. One time it happened to me, I was going to literally fall down and almost past out after getting out of bed. I remember going to the restroom to shake it out.

The last thing you "flashes of light" never happaned to me Must be Aliens !!!

The first one is postural hypotension. Basically it means that you're blood pressure drops when you get up suddenly and your brain does not get enough blood/oxygen for a few seconds causing the loss of vision and dizziness. Then the blood pressure control mechanisms kick in and everything gets better. It is more common in tall people, underweight people and in dehydration. But some people just get almost all the time. Personally it happens to me whenever I get a cold.

The second one is a bit weird. It could be a form of synesthesia which in itself is very unusual. Basically it means that your brain gets the signals from the different senses mixed up. Some people end up tasting sounds, hearing colours, etc. It's a fascinating condition. In your case I''m guessing this happens only when your brain is in a relaxed almost-asleep state (in the dark? with no visual stimuli?), and an unexpected sound gets misinterpreted as light by the sensory cortex.

Or it's aliens.

Either way, I wonder what you would experience in a sensory deprivation tank with occasional sound only. Might be interesting...
Mostly harmless

Thank you. I had found some info on it already, but I had not seen this part. I'm over 180 cm so not a basketball player, but I am a bit underweight. I should keep drinking water (I have a big bottle around but sometimes I forget to drink).

As far as I'm aware yes, the only times I have noticed it at least.

I knew a bit about synesthesia but as I only get this very particular case I figured it might just be a normal "alarm" reaction everyone got to "wake up" in case of a sudden sound (because there could be danger). Apparently not, as I have only read a few other posts in the internet about it and nobody I know admits to having this (maybe all an elaborate prank to try to convince me I am abducted by aliens :) ).

I can tell you it is very effective in waking me up, much more so than the sound itself. It is a bit annoying actually. I have been told some funny stories about rather alarmed reactions I had, described by people that have awakened me. In those situations where I was already actually sleeping, I went back to sleep quickly and don't remember the situation or the alarmed reactions they described (maybe they were joking as well) - so I do not know if I was woken up by flashes instead of their noise.
Either way, I wonder what you would experience in a sensory deprivation tank with occasional sound only. Might be interesting...
Now I need to be looking over my back!
