just put both of those in the BOOT folder. Black screen. Give me step by step. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
1. Turn on PS2 with no game inserted.
2. Go to ulaunchelf
3. run SM.ELF
(should I put a game in BEFORE running the SM?)

Yes, a DVD based game, they usually say the higher the TOC the better.
- Turn on PS2
- Run ULE
- Put PS2 game in drive
- Run the .elf
I dont have to have a PS2 game in the drive for it launch, but I know some people do for one reason or another.
I was just thinking perhaps the file I uploaded was PAL, but what I sent you was meant to the a NTSC dump so it makes no sense (I would not think .elf's are region coded or anything anyhow).

Re: Playing PS2 Imports via Softmod (FMCB) Tutorial.
figured out my problem. I put the game in BEFORE booting the PS2. It then allowed me to load SM. It wasn't spinning the disc the other way. Okay, so now what do I do at the main SM menu?

can't get it to work. I switch the disc, and fire it up. It says it's going to load the game. System resets. FreeMCBoot logo. System resets. FreeMCBoot logo. System resets....etc.

Is the game DVD or CD based (The .elf I uploaded is for DVD's only)noiseredux wrote:can't get it to work. I switch the disc, and fire it up. It says it's going to load the game. System resets. FreeMCBoot logo. System resets. FreeMCBoot logo. System resets....etc.
Try a game with a higher TOC.

I hate fidgeting like this. Someone offered to just sell me the CD+DVD SM discs for cheappp so I'll probably just go that route! haha
Re: Playing PS2 Imports via Softmod (FMCB) Tutorial.
To be honest I have never had any issues with it at all. Put it in, use a disc, it plays.noiseredux wrote:I hate fidgeting like this. Someone offered to just sell me the CD+DVD SM discs for cheappp so I'll probably just go that route! haha

yeah I don't know what's wrong. And I don't wanna screw with my settings, cuz I'm able to boot import PS1 games with ease right now. So if I can get SM for cheap, I'll just do that. Save the headache.emwearz wrote:To be honest I have never had any issues with it at all. Put it in, use a disc, it plays.noiseredux wrote:I hate fidgeting like this. We figured out its not working for noise because he was trying to boot a backup, not a original import.
