i was thinking about this eventually, too. i wish there was a smaller case mod for the 32X so i could get a CDX and still play 32X games. the CDX just looks so god damn awesome. i'm talking about NA versions here, obviously.
as for those three choices i'd say aesthetically the MD2/MCD2 combo, but the 1 AC Adapter for the wondermega is tempting. kinda boils down to priorities and space issues i guess.

There were actually four versions of the Wondermega.Ryvius wrote:I'd say the Wondermega. Never seen that one before myself though, I had the JVC model. Physically they look a little different, anyone know if they were that different underneath/functionality wise?
It's definitely something I'd like to get eventually again when I have the money.
There are already pictures of the first two models in this thread. Sega put out a model, and they gave the Victor Company of Japan (known by its acronym, JVC, in North America) the rights to put out their own model (which later extended into the 32-bit era, where Victor put out two different model of the Saturn). Victor then slapped their name on the Sega Wondermega and re-branded it the Victor Wondermega. Later on, Victor put out the Wondermega M2. This is the design that the X'Eye is based off of. The main difference is that the M2 has wireless controllers, where the X'Eye does not. Here are pictures of the four versions so you can compare them visually.

The 32X works fine with the CDX.aaron wrote:i wish there was a smaller case mod for the 32X so i could get a CDX and still play 32X games. the CDX just looks so god damn awesome. i'm talking about NA versions here, obviously.

It's amazing how many times that question pops up.
Does the 32X work with the CDX?
or
Does the Master System PBC work on the CDX?
The answer to both questions has always been 'YES'.
CDX- such a sweet, sweet system.

The PBC fits? I always figured it wouldn't fit...Thierry Henry wrote: Does the Master System PBC work on the CDX?

It does indeed fit. And most importantly it works just great.AppleQueso wrote:The PBC fits? I always figured it wouldn't fit...
Haven't tried the European Master System Convertor II, but I would think that would fit and work fine as well.

The first model (first pic?) is so much nicer than all the others.Breetai wrote:There were actually four versions of the Wondermega.Ryvius wrote:I'd say the Wondermega. Re: Which Sega 16-bit set up should I get?
The first two models (Sega and Victor) are basically the exact same except for the company logos and MD/MCD stickers. The Sega one in the pic is powered on, while the Victor one is not. That is why the Sega one looks more colourful; the power/access lights are on.D.D.D. wrote:The first model (first pic?) is so much nicer than all the others.Go for that one~

The first Wondermega there looks the best to me, but they all look pretty awesome. Definitely don't look cheap at all though...
And I have to say the CDX looks amazing, and also very hard to find apparently. Not even sure if I've heard of that one until now. Kind of like how I always forget about the Genesis 3... (reminds me of the mini SNES, yuck!)

They usually run about $500 and up for CIB, $300 and up for loose.Ryvius wrote:The first Wondermega there looks the best to me, but they all look pretty awesome. Definitely don't look cheap at all though...

Re: Which Sega 16-bit set up should I get?
I have the model 2 setup complete with a 32X. I would prefer to have my Model 1 hooked up but I chose a model 2 Sega CD for reliability. A model 1 Genesis/Megadrive with a model 2 Sega CD looks weird and takes up about 3 square miles of shelf space. Not to mention the extra cables...
Mostly harmless
