During one of my summers I played pokemon sapphire non-stop, every day for about 4-5 hours each day. I logged over 500 hours on it(I think like 540, this does not include pokemon ruby which I would reset saves on), I played it so much that the internal battery ran dry, and timed events no longer worked. Looking back, I have no Idea what I spent 500 hours on. Sure I had all lv 100 pokemon and had an almost completed pokedex (except event legendaries) Hopefully pokemon B&W will be this enjoyable for me.

As for the topic, I'd probably pick an mmo or rpg, or perhaps tetris.

If I had limitless competition, then it would be a perfectly balanced Tekken Tag or Tekken 5. Otherwise, Dr. Mario all the way. That game is still incredibly addicting after all these years.

Or maybe Deus Ex...

In my opinion it is the best in the series.

Its extremely hard to answer questions like this, even if it is hypothetical.

However, forcing myself to choose, I'll steal Para's idea and say Sonic Mega Collection.

I never get tired of Sonic, not really. Mega Collection allows access to the majority of the classic library.

JT, is it cheating to pick a compilation title this way?

O that is another good choice! I have a save file with over 70 hours on the second one and I have maxd the score in the regular mode numerous times where the game just ended because it ran out of skins.

On an unrelated note, it's refreshing to read of someone who can enjoy the 3rd gen games on their own merits without comparing them to the original two gens. Such underated games, which isn't often said of something that sold as much as they did, but still my point remains, I find they often get lost in the rush of nostalgia harboured for their predecessors.

Anyways, I'd reserve my answer 'til the released some sort of Pokemon RPG omnibus on a handheld, or if 'Flashcart' isn't a cheating answer.

Haha, nice idea... does almost sound like cheating.

If not though, I could probably stick with the Mega Man collection myself.

There just ISN'T any game that can stay that interesting for that long. Not for me anyway

This is why no professional reviewer should ever give a game a score of, or very close to, 10/100%. The perfect game would basically be like, "don't even bother developing anything more for this genre, it's just never gonna be as good."
