Re: Xperia Play to come out in March
If Sony releases an Xperia Play 2, then I will probably buy that. As of now, my Evo still has plenty of life left in it.

I might get one just for rooting/emulation.

As others have said, not surprised.hashiriya1 wrote:Forget it. I'd have to re-purchase all of my PS1 and PSP Mini games. Boooo.

I don't think this move even makes business sense - that would work a bit like backward compatibility in attracting people to this phone, which strategically would be very important at the onset of the idea. It would get them a larger user base which would justify supporting it more 1st party and get more 3rd party support. I think that was a shot in their own foot.
Too bad. The hardware had potential. As it is, even ignoring entirely the Sony support it still looks like the best Android phone for gamers (depending on price) just because of the dedicated controls... But what a missed opportunity to grab so many more gamers.

I am also not surprised that they messed it up, but I AM surprised at how they manage to fumble so much (and yet still remain reasonably successful).Niode wrote:Sony fluff another device launch? I'm sooo surprised

Sony lives entirely off of brand recognition.Ivo wrote:I am also not surprised that they messed it up, but I AM surprised at how they manage to fumble so much (and yet still remain reasonably successful).Niode wrote:Sony fluff another device launch? I'm sooo surprised

Well yeah, but they still make good electronics. Just more expensive and not as good as the competition. But you tell me how the fuck Microsoft lives on, when they have the shittiest software in the market, that keeps on crashing all the time?AppleQueso wrote: Sony lives entirely off of brand recognition.
You know, I'm always amazed by how much consumers like to bend over for big companies.

I can answer part that in terms of OS.ZeroAX wrote:But you tell me how the fuck Microsoft lives on, when they have the shittiest software in the market, that keeps on crashing all the time?AppleQueso wrote: Sony lives entirely off of brand recognition.
For me the best OS out there when everything is considered is actually Windows (currently Win 7; Vista was not as good as it should have been)!
I suspect that statement actually holds true for a lot of people as well.
For a good number of people Linux or Mac OS are the best (and for them, that holds true - it really depends on the person), but for what I use my OS for and the way I want to use it, Windows is easily the best and it is not even close.
