I can do very well in any type of game, as long as I take the time to learn it and practice it. I can pick a new game to play, even if I am absolutely horrible at it, and quickly become one of the best, if not the best player at it.

I don't do this with every game I play, but when I do, I don't have much trouble excelling in it. Some of the games I have seriously tried to get good at were Dance Dance Revolution, Power Stone, Phantasy Star Online, Phantasy Star Universe and Dungeon Fighter Online.

I really wanted to play Starcraft II, and become one of the best players at it but I decided to keep playing Dungeon Fighter Online, because it's a better game imo.

The main reason I can do so well is mindset. If you can manage to take the pros' mindset and make it your own, you should do very well. When I was younger, I played the original Starcraft constantly for many years, however I sucked horribly at it. I wanted to get better but it was impossible for me. I didn't have the right mindset at all.

Those of you thinking "I suck at all fighting games so why even bother trying to get good?" are correct in thinking that. You don't have the right mindset and that's the exact reason why you suck at fighting games. It's entirely possible for you to play much better but you have to change your mindset first.

I make a point of playing many games from many genres, but I have always had a natural affinity for platformers, hop and hoppers in particular. I'm also pretty good at finding hidden items in those games without a guide. I find myself pretty good at puzzlers too like Braid, Crush, Portal and some SCUMM games. I would like to say that I rock at RPGs and beat'em ups since I love them so much but I wouldn't say I'm a natural at them. Some times I need help from a guide or video
