I would be extremely surprised if they do the same mistake twice (but I've seen that kind of thing happen, as well).

I wouldn't mind having it unhackable for years (so that piracy is not a big concern and more devs jump on board to make games for it).
I would be sad if it was unhackable after several years though.

Not sure I like the look of the dpad and buttons, but the screen looks lovely and 2 analog sticks/sliders id def the way to go I think.

Yeah I have to agree.. Although not bigger than the game gear, it's bigger than the PSP for sure.. I personally like the design though, glad they abandoned the PSP Go design..

Likewise. This looks good to me. Say what you will about the DS or 3DS, but I prefer the tech and the library for both the PSP and, based on what's announced, PSP2. I'm sure I'll own both at some point, but the PSP2 will be likely getting my launch day dollars.

I still don't like the fact that they moved away from the UMD platform. I have a ton of psp games that I wouldn't be able to play if I got this thing. I just don't understand why they keep removing backwards compatibility on all their newer systems. This digital download crap is bupkis.

Some of the previous concept shots were totally wrong. I think all of them envision a slide out interface similar to the Go.

Also, PS3 graphics? Isn't that kinda what we expected anyway? Meaning, it's probably going to be equal to the DS in terms of graphics.

Basically, with them being on par in that category, it's going to come down solely to games. Dumbed-down PS3 games aren't going to do it; Sony needs some BIG original titles for it to compete.

Hmm... Sounds cool from the specs, but I'm really disappointed with the design.

The three factors I care about most with a portable system are battery life, actual portability, and cost. Nintendo is failing on battery life and cost with their 3DS, and Sony looks ready to fail on all three points with their PSP successor.

I know some people here didn't like the PSP Go design, but I felt it was a HUGE improvement that was only held back by pricing issues and weak support from the PlayStation Store. Frankly, the only notable design improvement I see for PSP2 is a second analog stick... Color me not impressed.

If the claim about it being as powerful as the ps3 is true... oh geez a $500+ handheld with a battery that lasts 2 hours max.

You can't really slam Nintendo on cost; I mean, it's stereoscopic 3D without glasses, with a whole other bunch of bells and whistles. That had to be expensive to develop, let alone mass-market.
