I need a new cell phone = frustration! I hate cell phones!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Just unlimited calling and texting here, Internet is on the home wifi arrangement.

I have an older phone but love it. Smart Phone features on a cheaper by the month NON SMART Phone. Samsung Impression, not sure what model name took its place.

Be careful of the "Unlimited Texting" plan. You still get charged extra once too many pic megabits per month get attached. I ended up having ATT blocking the pics and internet icons from accidently going online to avoid the extra charges.

TKExplorer works with this phone, allows me to backup all the DRM Java games.

For what it's worth, bigger isn't always better when it comes to antennas. An antenna should be sized in relation to the wavelength of the frequencies you hope to receive. A lot of modern wireless standards use different frequencies than they did several years ago. I don't know which standards you old and new phones were/are on, but that could be part of the difference.

I can't speak to why you particularly have gotten worse reception with your latest phone, though I will mention that higher frequencies have a harder time penetrating walls and stuff than lower frequencies.

the LG Rumor Touch that Virgin Mobile offers was recently cracked too, so I can show you how to put *.jad/*.jar apps on it.

Their customer service is crap -- but dude, I get something like 200-400 mins a month (I'm not sure, cuz I don't talk on it THAT much) PLUS unlimited text, unlimited web and it has a camera and mp3 player. This is $25/mo. You really can't beat that.

That, and it doesn't have Wi-Fi; a fact that I found out when I tried to set up my friend's new Rumor Touch that he got for Christmas. :?

Why not just look for a used but non broken phone like you already have that someone who's upgrading is selling on Craigslist? THen you can just move the sim card and you're golden? The 2 cell phones I've had were hand me downs from friends. The first one was a prepaid phone so I just changed my details on the t-mobile site. When that 6 year old phone started having issues with the charging jack that I couldn't fix I luckily had a friend with a Dash that decided they wanted an i-phone so I Just swapped the sim card over and kept on truckin. I had to geet a new battery a few months ago, but it was a painless swap between the phones.

I to have that $25 / month Virgin Mobile plan, its pretty sweet. To bad the two good phones are $150+. And unlike someone else who mentioned it, I've had a pretty good experience with their customer service.

If there's not anything keeping you from switching carriers...a lot of the other ones have a larger selection of phones. I have Verizon and they have a lot of phones just for texting and talking (with cameras) - but the plans are a little pricier then most I think. When I was looking at different carriers I did notice T Mobile didn't have very many phone options without data plans, which was a big deciding factor for me.

My phone, $40 at walmart.

I don't pay anything. I'm on some family plan and it came with an extra phone free (It's like an all in one TV/internet/home phone/cell phone plan. Looking at individual plans I'm pretty shocked. $70 for unlimited calling and then extra cost for unlimited texting.

But I barely text and don't spend much time on the phone, so if I end up on my own plan at some point I will be getting the bare minimum and telling people to just call me at home and NOT TEXT ME. I don't like texting anyway.

I've looked at new phones but have no reason to get one. None of them seem as good as mine or they have touch screens, which i hate.
