When my dad and brother are restoring and detailing a vehicle, sometimes they treat the upholstery and fabric with aerosol "smoke odour eliminator". It seems to work well for mildew and grease smells too, tho some brands are better than others. I think they use Dakota brand now.

Air, believe it or not. The colder the air is, the better.
Baking soda+zip lock bag air tight works as well
The way I got rid of the smoke smell on some of my Grandmas games/systems/controllers is warm water+dish soap on plastic to get the top layer of tar off, then I let it sit for a good week or two in baking soda+zip lock bag.
