No reason to give up hope. The Wii started out only getting a port of Twilight Princess (originally a GC game) but now is getting Skyward Sword. I think Nintendo has learned that it helps their market share to have a Zelda game released as soon as possible. A port of a game that's already completed is one way to make that happen instantly. It doesn't preclude something else later.

P.N.03 - an underrated game that could have launched a new franchise if things had gone better for it.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I liked that one. It wasn't what I had initially hoped for, but it was good. It reminded me of some of Capcom's NES games like Section Z. I think motion controls could to wonders for it if they made a sequel.

Reminds me how sad I was that Dead Phoenix never got released.

Or how I felt when the 'Capcom 5' weren't as cube exclusive as the purple triangle led me to believe.

That was a disappointing and disreputable move on Capcom's part. They also more or less lost one of their better designers over it.

I'll never blame a company for making money ; it's why they exist.

But to boldly and openly say you'll do one thing and then do the other without offering any justification or explanation is pretty shitty.

Yeah, that's not the problem.

THAT was the problem. Porting all those games would have been fine if they hadn't already made a big deal about wanting to support the Gamecube hardware and prove it was a great platform for third-party developers. Sorta like I wouldn't have a problem with the PS2's popularity despite seriously inferior graphics if Sony hadn't shown fake demonstration videos of it the E3 before the console's debut to drum up all that hype--or how I wouldn't have a problem with the DualShock 3 if they hadn't previously said it was technologically impossible, or with the Move if Sony hadn't previously said that motion control wands were silly and childish. Boo.

I don't care what it is, I just want to see a Wii game with LAN capabilities.

Well yeah, of course. But I meant the company themselves. They didn't make any pretense that the exclusivity was temporary (not sure if that concept even existed then) or conditional. They didn't claim that Nintendo hadn't lived up to their end of the bargain or that fan-demand was so great they felt compelled to reprint the games on a Sony platform.

They just went ahead and did it. True they made lots of $ € ¥ £ but I'd have preferred they not ever claim the games were exclusive to Nintendo in the first place.
