Fair enough, but this is 2010 so I don't see the need to compare old systems in 1996 terms anymore. If I was 12 years old and was hoping to get one system for my birthday then the playground comparisons might be justified, but considering how cheap most old games and systems are nowadays, calling any of them terrible seems pointless. This is a retro gaming forum and I think most of us have left our biases in the clearance aisles of 1998. You could pick up an N64 and 10-15 good games for under $100, so calling it terrible isn't really justified.Breetai wrote:From the 32-bit TV game console generation:Jrecee wrote:?????kenshin-dono wrote:the terrible N64
Playstation>Saturn>N64>3DO>Jaguar>PC-FX (although I prefer the Saturn above all)
The N64 isn't terrible, but considering that it was the follow-up to the NES and SNES, and had the PSX and Saturn as its main competition, it certainly does compare terribly to all five of those other systems. The handful of AAA and few AA/A titles on the system just do not compete, as good as F-Zero X, Sin & Punishment, Mario 64, Zelda: OoT, Waverace and No Mercy are.
Wii console question

Re: Wii console question
If you're only interested in the hardware. . . what's the point of the system? I mean it's a videogame system, it's only worth anything if it has games you want to play. The 360 and PS3 have superior hardware and they both offer motions controls now, which are also technologically superior to the wii's.kenshin-dono wrote:
Tnx guys, but like i said im not really looking for game suggestions yet i was just looking for info on the hardware itself.

Re: Wii console question
No but considering Nintendo hasn't delivered on a new star fox game, neither can the wii. I mean, couldn't they have at least released star fox 2 on the virtual console?Rurouni_Fencer wrote:But can they Do a Barrel-Roll..??Jrecee wrote:kenshin-dono wrote: The 360 and PS3 have superior hardware and they both offer motions controls now, which are also technologically superior to the wii's.

I feel the same way about the PS1...kenshin-dono wrote:It only had a couple decent games. Most were terrible attempts at 3d that just didn't fly

I have a ridiculous idea for the controls of a Star Fox Wii game but I'm not just going to give my idea away.Jrecee wrote: No but considering Nintendo hasn't delivered on a new star fox game, neither can the wii. I mean, couldn't they have at least released star fox 2 on the virtual console?

Does it involve holding the remote like a model airplane and "flying" it around toward the screen?YoshiEgg25 wrote:I have a ridiculous idea for the controls of a Star Fox Wii game but I'm not just going to give my idea away.

Is it where you hold the wiimote in one hand and the nunchuck on the other and extend your hands to opposite ends of the body, pretending you're a plane (Arwing)?

Neither! Even though those don't sound very practical or like they have great controls, they sound fun.swiftzx wrote:flamepanther wrote:Does it involve holding the remote like a model airplane and "flying" it around toward the screen?YoshiEgg25 wrote:I have a ridiculous idea for the controls of a Star Fox Wii game but I'm not just going to give my idea away.

Does it involve holding two wiimotes in each hand, while strapping the nunchuck to your groin and using pelvic thrusts to fire?
