Biggest Online Reviewers Who do you prefer ?

The nostalgia critic. AVGN isn't that funny imo. I believe that he is a much better serious reviewer than a comedy reviewer. Every time he talks about a console's history, it's very educational and fun to watch. But few of his videos are like that. Most of them are about shouting how crappy the said game is. I know that's his "thing", but it has gotten a bit old, so I wish he'd just start doing normal retro reviews.


Also his movie reviews are really enjoyable, even though we have soooooo different taste, and I end up disagreeing with his opinions most of the time



Nostalgia Critic rocks on the other hand. I a lot with his videos, though his success rate at making good jokes varies on the source material, and the strange thing is that he makes better jokes against average to crappy movies (Godzilla, Hook ect.) than he does the absolutely shitty ones (they are already soooo bad, there isn't much he can do to make them seams worse)

I was just going to say the opposite. AVGN isn't really a critic as much as he is a parody of a critic and should be watched for entertainment purposes only.

I agree 100 percent. He really should drop the AVGN character. I'd gladly watch just James Rolfe doing retro reviews as himself.

Out of the video reviewers, I like Classic Game Room. But if I am looking for an opinion on a game I have a handful of friends who know my tastes well. ie if I am looking for a horror or FPS game I just call Ack.

Same here. I hate slugging thru a choppy video when text and pics can be scrutinized more easily.

AVGN makes me laugh but to be honest never really reviews the games/consoles.

Irate gamer well, personally i think alot of people on this forum can (and have) done better he is terrible.

CGR i quite like as he admits to liking some genres more than others and having favourites. The reviews feel very human, almost like having a mate talk about the game.

IGN i cannot stand. Seems to me that the more mainstream the game the better the review and they focus waaay to much on graphics and sound. Gameplay is worth more than both of them combined (see pac man).

yea he does his voice is good for radio/ tv. Hes like the howard stern of gaming reviews.

I watch Classic Game Room quite often. He gives good and thorough reviews, with a voice that can sell anything. Totally unbiased too (cause nothing could ever top the Vectrex and Cosmic Carnage... and beer.)

i dont know why there is so much hate on the irater gamer though. I feel bad for him

CGR praised Fist of the North Star Ken's Rage and upon playing it myself it's little more than a mundane Dynasty Warriors 'sequel'. Their reviews aren't always on the mark.

The best reviewer is myself. The whole world can praise a turd like GTA4 and I'll still think of it as a turd. In the case where trying before buying is impossible I like to pick and mix reviews otherwise I'll fall into the trap of critic fanboyism (Sheesh) like the sheep that read Jim Sterling's schizoid reviews.
