Anyone planning anything for December 20th 2012?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Some people have too much time on their hands, or are just plain opportunists (that awful movie comes to mind)

As for those documentary channels, if it's not about animals I just ignore their programming. Sensationalism ≠ learning.

i could have sworn the end of time was dec 2011. in fact, before starting grad school my doctor giving me my physical told me that i wouldn't be able to use my degree because the world wouldn't be here in 2011, which was my projected graduation year. and then he said, "fuck the mayans." my doctor is soooo coool! he curses!

anyways, in 2011 or 2012 the sun is supposed to emit some kind of "energy burst" that is supposed to knockout and destroy essentially all major electronical shit that runs our country. it is projected that this will be a major catastrophe and it will be years before shit gets running again. no electricity = no life, as every aspect of our lives, minus sleeping and breathing, depends on electricity of some kind.

and everything i just said is FACT. i watched it on the history channel.
if you took a shit, please put it back

i know the mayans weren't the only civilization to predict the end of time in 2012. i think there were a handful of others, all separated across the globe. and i am sure some people are taking this prediction seriously. but does anybody think that shit might hit the fan weeks or months leading up to dec 2012? riots, looters, mass crazies running rampant?

Who else did (the Mayans never predicted the end of time in 2012. Why do people keep saying this?)?

Saying the Chinese or the Egyptians does not count! Those who say they did are injecting their own ideas on already established things, like the I Ching or the number of inches from the inner chamber of the great pyramid to the entrance.

I'm a little bummed that it's not going to happen though, as I'd also heard that the earth was supposed to end in four ways: earthquake, firestorm, flood, or my personal favorite, Jaguars rain from the sky.

And I was really looking forward to getting a sports car.
