What Are The Hardest NES Games Ever?

Maybe I'm just not that good at video games, but holy crap, this game is hard. Like a million enemies at a time and if you don't have the turtle with the whip, you're screwed.

No, their weapon, like one has nunchuks and such. The whip is the only long range weapon and the turtles are terrible at short range attacking.

I haven't a clue, I just know one is long range and it's the only way to get through.

Maybe not the hardest NES game, but Milon's Secret Castle is one of the hardest i played. Granted there is a cheat for continuing after you die (without it that game would be almost unplayable). The fact that there is no invincible time after you get hit makes for fun, ive been spam killed so many times. I did beat the game this spring, after owning it for 21 years i finally beat it. Anyone else beat this mess?

Castlevania 3 definitely. Amazing game but damn is it hard..I'm surprised nobody said Contra. Haha

There are some games that I believe are far harder than the ones we've mentioned so far but I can't remember any of their names -_- I guess because they were not only hard but so shitty that I never came back to them.

Contra really isn't that hard. And I mean without the 30 man cheat. Practice and you can get better as the game isn't terribly long.

I love Zanac but it is pretty tough. Obviously you want to beat it without continuing, but if you continue in stages 11 or 12 because you're still learning the endgame it sends you back to stage 10.

My thoughts exactly, my first time attempting to get through Contra I thought it was insane, but as you go on, the patterns aren't that hard to memorize, its simply practice
