Hey Aaron. I'm Josh.
You should totally make a topic on how to begin developing games, I think it's really cool that you're developing games and you're only a year older than me. Makes me feel like it's actually possible for me. xD
So welcome to the forum, glad you could come by.
Hi. My name is Aaron.

Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)
Re: Hi. My name is Aaron.
I've decided I like Aaron. I agree with Josh: I would also like to know more about developing old games. Not that I have the talent or attention span, mind you. I just think it's crazy how pioneering the original developers had to be; I'd like to know more about their methods.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

You learned Assembly before HTML? Interesting, is Assembly easy to learn? But yeah, I love making stuff with programming and progamming in general, and love assembly. Since you control everything. I just took some time, went from Basic, to assembly, HTML, Javascript, now back to assembly and some C
<--- Knows (X)HTML, CSS, and is learning ActionScript
Since you know JavaScript, maybe you should learn ActionScript, or maybe Lua?and anyone's guess what's next....probably nothing. XD

Watch out for Old Man Ack and his thumping stick and for Uncle Luke who will kick your ass if you don't put your cart away. Otherwise, we're pretty nice.sevin0seven wrote:..and you haven't met the whole family yet3GenGames wrote:Wow.....I'm liking it here.

No, it's not. Assembly is the actual instructions supported by the CPU. Adding two registers, loading a word from memory, storing a word in memory, branching, etc. It's one step up from the actual binary in that you can get a textual representation of what the instructions are, but it's still very arcane.GSZX1337 wrote:You learned Assembly before HTML? Here's what Hello World looks like in Assembly. As you can see, it's pretty hard to follow without extensive comments (especially the system calls). It's very fun stuff, though.

You went to assembly code that soon? That's crazy. I did a bit of programming for my A levels a few years back, but unfortunately I've basically forgot it all. I knew a decent amount of Visualbasic.net, and did a VERY minor amount in the old QBasic and some fiddling with assembly, which i never really got the hang of.
Nowadays I just know some simple HTML and a tiny bit of actionscript.
Re: Hi. My name is Aaron.
I think we're all avoiding the key issue here. Is Aaron going to be boycotting Halal Grape poptarts?
