it's easier to forget about your friends.
I thought it was because women actually hate their friends.

I hate it when this kind of thing happens. You begin to know somebody, they open up to you and then out of the blue everything falls apart.

It just brings up all sorts of insecurities that one never needs. Did I say something wrong? Am I bad in bed? Was I too clingy? I find my mind twisting in circles trying to find out just what it was I did, never even blinking at the idea that I could simply be a victim myself. I've had these notions plague my thoughts for years after a terrible break up and the subsequent one night stands following, just now breaking free from them, well as far as I can.

It's hard to keep your head up when these things are often the only things that your mind goes to. The best advice I can give is keep busy. Getting a job, a passion, a hobby, all of these things gives you a greater purpose than that eternal search for love. The things the kept me out of the darkest parts of my mind is my art and my job as a dj. With art, I can express myself in a way that seems less tangible and less bound to the normal monotony that I feel crowds myself too much. With my job at my radio station, I'm doing a service that other people appreciate, filling a little bit oft eh void of importance that I had when I had someone I cared about deeply. When I lost someone the answer seemed to be to find someone right afterwords, but often the disappointment of another rejection can just sent me spiraling further. That, or the comparisons would only make me think of the girl I had lost before, which would lead to me only destroying whatever I had with someone new. That's why I took a break from the hunt and decided to look elsewhere

These are just personal examples, and I'm sure you'll find your own way, but these things also helped me out a whole lot. I hope things work out for you, because heartbreak is just plain terrible.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

Hey Niode,

Great story man. Hey man, atleast you got some right? It's time to move on to the next one.

Honestly, here's what you should do. Don't txt her, don't call her, no contact with her at all... even on Facebook! Just for right now. If she tries to contact you, just ignore it for now..

I know it sounds counter-intuitive... but this is how woman work. If you show them too much interest, they will run. If you give them the cold shoulder, they will wonder "where did he go"?

Think about it.... if you ignore her, she's going to start thinking she did something, and will start missing you. Let her miss you my friend. She will come back when you least expect it.

Give her a call in a month from now, and just say "HI". shoot some shit, and let her know that your a busy guy. Tell her if she wants to catch up, that your going to your favorite coffee house, and if she wants to join you then "feel free to come along".

until then, go date some more woman. you'll forget about this one, and having woman around you makes you look even better to all the other woman.

Thanks for your responses guys. It means A LOT (seriously I'm touched) to me that you guys bothered to read my post (i'm sorry it was so long and a bit rushed to the end, I needed to just get it out) and respond to it.

Regarding the chest hair bit being TMI. I was holding back on a lot of the details. You got the extremely light version. Think yourselves lucky. Some people in the IRC weren't that fortunate.

@jp1: Yes, looking on it, I had a wonderful day, with an amazing girl, and it was just what I needed to get me out of my slump, kickstart my ego again and get back out there.

@AwesomeMonstar: I'm keeping busy, I've been playing guitar more than ever before. Pushing myself to be even better. I owe it to my future guitar students to be the best I absolutely can for them. I've already got a few kids lined up to learn from me. So at least I'm going to keep doing what I love (teaching + music) whilst I'm studying. I've already got a bunch of song ideas floating around based on this entire experience. In fact, the process of writing this post has helped me get a start on some lyrics for two songs (the hardest part of writing any song, I find). So I'm turning this experience into something positive at least and just trying to look on the bright side.

@retrmangia: I'm not going to talk to her. I'm just gonna leave it. She's made it pretty clear I'm not what she wants right now. Maybe in the future it may happen, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I'll just find somebody else.
