I have actually bought some DIY chips from retro usb and used them in an attempt to make my own sega saturn usb adapters by using a set on cable extensions so that I wouldn't have to cut the wires on the controllers. I bought enough stuff to make two. One of them turned out successful and the other was a solder fail, most likely on my part. If I were to do it again I would have just got one pre-made usb controller so I wouldn't have to worry about losing a chip because of my less than awsome soldering skills.

Theres another person who makes usb adapters for varoius controllers. His site is called raphnet-tech.com. I've purched two of his sega genesis/atari usb adapters and they've worked wonderfully. They're finicky when trying to play with two players however and I need to unplug/reconnect the usb adapters and reset the button maps on the emu to get all the buttons working on two controllers. Sometimes it takes several tries until they will both be fully functional which is annoying. I wonder if the two to one usb adapter would be less prone to this instead of using two seperate usb ports at the same time. Despite this it still works and I like the product. I just bought an double snes controller usb adapter from that guy too and I plan to use it with two genuine snes game pads.

I like the adapters a bit more because of the flexiblity of being able to use the controllers on a regular console as well as PC. Perhaps not for a sega saturn one though, for that a maybe usb controller but somebody said that already.
