Re: Do you believe in god?
Just so you guys know, you cannot choose whether you believe in a God or not. You can't, if you do, you're just lying to yourself.
You believe what makes sense to you, you cannot decide. You can, however, go out and find facts to change your viewpoint, but what you believe is still involuntary.
Anyone that believes in God after being presented with facts and statistics against them pretty much have to be lying to themselves. No matter how far down the lie goes, the part of your brain that really counts knows he doesn't exist.
Which leads me to think, why do people lie to themselves like this? It's one thing to do it for social reasons, but it's just stupid to do it to get into heaven. If God does exist, he's all knowing. Lying like that is just stupid, he knows the truth.
Also, if someone says they believe in God, but then say "I don't care that you don't. Just accept that I do and I'll except that you don't." is dumb. That's just another way to get out of defending your point, and also, one of the things God would want you to do is spread your belief.

Haha, it's cool, it's just nice to know that when I'm on my game, I'm still quotable.

In any case, I don't care either way what anyone believes or doesn't. It's still pretty cool that you all are into video games and collecting!
Also this thread was just asking for a flame war which is why most forums ban religious/political discussion. People also try to convert others (which has already happened, surprise), which really is just asking for fights, etc.

This post doesn't make sense to me. EVERYTHING in life is a choice, including every belief a person has
Also, saying that science and statistics proves that there is no god is an argument that I don't personally understand. Science is still discovering things every day. If science can't explain something, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It just means science hasn't discovered it yet. Not to mention new reports come out all the time contradicting existing scientific facts
And what about the old saying that we only use ten percent of the human brain. Think of how much more we'd understand the world around us if we could use all of it
In my personal opinion, it seems very arrogant of human beings to think that we understand everything and thus can say with certainty that there is no higher power. We know very little about the universe STILL. We don't even know whether or not aliens exist yet people think they can say with certainty that there is no higher power
