According to VGChartz, it's sold 43 thousand copies already: http://www.vgchartz.com/game.php?id=34131

Interesting. Guess someone lied to me... or, more likely, that figure was true until they made more copies when they saw the demand for it. I remember my local store only got two in on release day, but then a couple weeks later, they got 4 more in because they sold out day one.

I hope it continues to sale, we need more 2d in this 3d gaming world. We need more 2d on disk and not on digital download.

That's a pretty respectable sales figure, by the way. I never thought word-of-mouth was this powerful, specially when dealing with a 2d shooter featuring lolitas.

Wait a second. So you guys are saying that my sealed copy of Xenosaga II isn't going to be enough to retire on?

Thank golly I still have my sealed 'Players Choice' copy of Megaman Anniversary Collection. It's got a gold label and gold is worth something.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'm still keeping my sealed copy of Ultimate Shooting Collection, just in case. You never know. Anyway, don't feel bad about opening Deathsmiles; every version of that game released in the US was a "Limited Edition".

i would have done the same thing. he probably could have got a decent amount. he could have bought a used copy and then had left overs and bought some more games!!
I did consider this, but realized it would take time and effort to go through all that when really I just wanted to play it, and own a nice minty copy for myself. Plus, I got the game "by accident," so I felt like it was better karma to just keep it for myself.

There's such a simple solution for this, get a gamefly account. You pay a small monthly fee and play as many games as you want. They have Deathsmiles, that's how I'll be playing it when I get around to it. I have no intention of opening my sealed limited edition copy. Hell, I don't really open anything anymore. I bought Sin and Punishment 2, it's still sealed. Granted I don't have a Wii yet, but when I get one I can just rent the game off of gamefly. I can play any PSP game I want for free thanks to the internet and my hacked PSP. Same goes for PS1 and Saturn games if you have a modded system. If I buy a game these days, it's because I want to own it, not because it's my only means of playing it.

And games have not gone down in value, I still see stuff on ebay selling for a lot more than they should

I am afraid to open a players choice Super Mario World Advance. Unless I buy it in a retail store, I never unseal a videogame.
