only a bit more. I'm still in the police station looking for squirrel keys.
It's sometimes hard for me to play it if my wife is reading or watching TV since there's no English subtitles, which means I need to turn it up loud enough to really listen to the dialogue.

Haha, I beat it back in August and wrote a lengthy bit on it in the Games Beaten 2011 thread. I love the game. It is absolutely amazing, and it really captures the image of a good town with a hideous underbelly. In fact, I found this game more disturbing than many of the other survival horror titles I've played, because of how effectively it draws you in only to shatter your preconceptions by the end. It is severely messed up, and that just makes it better.brunoafh wrote:So have any of you guys played any more of this?

I just read it and agree with everything you said. The points you make about the visuals were especially interesting, I don't believe I read one single review that took those things into consideration. I'm considering buying the 360 version now that I have one, as the subquests were difficult for me to complete with the PS3 version (no voice acting, had trouble reading all the Japanese). Are the subquests as good as the rest of the game?
This game still blows me away to this day though. It is so incredibly rare for a game like this to come along these days. I'll just quote what I said about it on another forum to sum up why I love it so much:
But this game has what so few games have (basically none now a days), it has an actual personality, and more importantly, a soul. Games like this are the reason I still play video games and haven't completely lost faith in the industry. With enough time, resources, and money, any old company can pump out some AAA title that's excellent across the board. With a game like Deadly Premonition/Red Seeds Profile, that's just not possible, it relies solely on it's foundations, and is what it is regardless of it's production values (and what it is, is nothing short of great).

playing in really slow bits and pieces, but love everything about it. Just beat the hospital chapter.
Re: Thoughts on Deadly Premonition
Think I might get this soon. I'm kind of just playing Saints Row 3 right now and nothing else... so maybe I'll grab it.
Re: Thoughts on Deadly Premonition
I need to replay this game and do all the side missions.

Re: Thoughts on Deadly Premonition
4 hours in now. Just finished exploring the lumber mill. The part where you have to hide from the Raincoat Killer in that room and it switches to split screen was seriously one of the coolest things I've seen in a game in a long time. This game is just great, and even though I'm playing through it slowly and sporadically, I'm just more and more impressed with each session.
Re: Thoughts on Deadly Premonition
You ain't seen nothing yet! The running and hiding sequences are intense, and they ramp up as you progress through the game. Keep playing! There are reasons why I respect this game so much.
Re: Thoughts on Deadly Premonition
I think Im 20 hours in (possibly counting a night i fell asleep on),but havent even finished chapter 1.
I play far and few between so I often lose my sense of where I last left off,but that dosent really matter because with the side missions you find yourself wandering and exploring anyways.
Theres also a glitch where certain items will respawn, such as candy which is a health item and can be very useful if you exploit this.I cant say enough about Deadly Premonition its near perfect cult status stuff and should be on every Survival Horror/360/PS3/ObscureGem/GamerCollectors Listsss

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
