That's like saying Phantasy Star IV and Final Fantasy IV aren't totally different games because they're RPGs. The Genesis and SNES Shadowrun games were made by different companies. Beyond the title and setting, there's nothing similar between the two except that they're both action-adventure games. You said yourself they don't play the same way. The storylines are completely different. Even the focus of the games is different.
I can understand what you're trying to say, but I don't think the word for it should be "fixed." I doubt Blue Sky even played the Super Famicom version of Shadowrun before they made their version (considering Blue Sky is a US development company and all and the only way they could have set about "fixing" Shadowrun would be to have played the SFC version a year prior to releasing their game).

I think that is a big difference between me and a hardcore gamer. I tend to see many of them as all very similar. Which is why I usually limit myself to the best of the best. I haven't played PSIV or FFIV, but I probably would think they aren't that different... lol. Subtle differences, sure, but not big ones. Just how I think FFVII and FFVIII are quite similar, just the same as WCIII, SC, and DoW are all similar RTS games.mobiusclimber wrote:That's like saying Phantasy Star IV and Final Fantasy IV aren't totally different games because they're RPGs. Like I mentioned, its all opinion. This is why I don't write reviews, I am too opinionated. ^_^
