Not only did it have digitized sprites, but there was also 3 player simultaneous fighting action, which was pretty cool for 1990.

I've played Pit Fighter in 3 player mode and it's enjoyable chaos.

I think Pit Fighter fits in nicely with other Midway arcade classics, which is why it belongs on the disc. Narc, Smash TV, Mortal Kombat, Total Carnage, and Pit Fighter......violent, dark, gritty, but all still have a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor to varying degrees.

Pit Fighter is like an 80s action movie in video game form. It's not high art, but it's fun.

Another thing to note: unlike many fighters, you can pick up and play Pit Fighter and get the full experience without knowing complicated input patterns for fireballs and whatnot. That's great for arcades and the casual gamer.

back in the Mk eras i actually thought this game was worth playing , considering the Mk2 arcade cabinets were always full of pros who easily beat you and leave you quarterless. i didnt mind being a spectator though since i get to see the fatalities in all its arcade quality mk2 glory.
