Monkey Island 2's remake was released today. Also, pretty sure most of the ones on your list can be run on ScummVM. Don't think I have most of them. I'll have to grab some.emwearz wrote:P&C Essentials that are still kick ass today
. Monkey Island 1, 2, 3 (Also remake of number 1 as well as number 2 on its way)
. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
. Broken Sword 1 & 2
. The Dig
. Full Throttle
. Sam & Max: Hit the Road
. Day of the Tentacle
. Beneath a Steel Sky
. Blade Runner
. Kings Quest I,II,III (Fan Remakes), V, VI
. Leisure Suit Larry 5, Leisure Suit Larry 6, Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail!
. Runaway 1, 2, 3
. The Longest Journey
. Space Quest IV
. Quest For Glory 1
While I found the Sam & Max games by Telltale a bit of a let down the Monkey Island Tales series is great, the first two chapters are a little slow but from there on its old school Monkey Island.

I am playing through Sanitarium at the moment, which I am enjoying, but there was this obnoxious lock puzzle where I had to run around and talk to all these deformed children to find out a sequence of numbers that opened a combination lock on a gate. It took forever, and it was all to get past a gate on a WAIST HIGH FENCE! Just CLIMB over it!Pulsar_t wrote:
An example of this rigidity would be the locked door conundrum which involves looking for keys placed in the most illogical of places. Why not just bash the door open if the protagonist is physically capable of doing so?

I hope with the remakes/re-releases of the Monkey Island games that this means we will be seeing more Lucas Arts games get a similar treatment. I want to play Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle again, plus I missed out on Grim Fandango.
By the way, if you like the old comic Lucas Arts style, then you really should play Ben There, Dan That. It's one part homage and three parts parody of those games. Plus it's free, so there's really no excuse to not at least try it:

Nooo! EvilBay has it and it's not really that expensive. Also, you can find here an installer that should work with Windows Vista/7 http://www.grim-fandango.com/downloads.phpJ T wrote:I missed out on Grim Fandango

Re: P&C Adventure Games
reviving old thread cuz I love PC adventure games!
I use to play a lot of PC games back then... some not necessarily adventure games..
I loved lucasart games and sierra.
I remember Sam & Max, Monkey Island 1,2,3, Myst, Gabriel Knight (never finished 2&3), Loom, Shivers, Zork Grand Inquisitor, broken sword, karma, syberia, I played Warcraft 1&2 also...use to play some doom and duke nukem. (yes I know some I listed aren't adventure games)
Anyways, I still have yet to play sanitarium and grim fandango. oh and Day of the Tentacle.

Re: P&C Adventure Games
Was anyone else really let down by the fact that The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition uses a similar interface to Sierra games?
Re: P&C Adventure Games
Anyone play the Journeyman Project games? Those games were so weird. The cheesy live action is priceless though. I remember so many funny looking/acting people in the 3rd game.

I agree with JT, would LOVE to see remakes of Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle, though I don't think there's much that can be done to improve those two games. DOTT is probably my favorite SCUMMVM game, though there's still a few of them I haven't played or finished

Day of the Tentacle has such great graphics. If they remade it in 3D like the Monkey Island series they'd probably ruin it. (What's the chance of a remake in 2D, right?)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I can understand the upgraded graphics for Monkey Island 1 and 2, but Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle already look great.jfrost wrote:Day of the Tentacle has such great graphics.
