It's been a few years since I registered any Nintendo hardware, but they are offering 160 coins when you register it with club nintendo, along with the warranty extension. That's a good start to my getting platinum again.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Would you say it truly is worth the buy?

Obviously I can only speak for myself but yes, I think it's worth the buy. There are a lot of good games on the DS that I've put off playing simply because the DSlite was not at all comfortable. With this XL, all those games are suddenly a lot more appealing.

And what's the point in having games if not to play them, right?

100% agree.

Edit: I just got mine and I love it. Does anyone know a good case and screen protector for the machine? Trying to prevent finger prints on the glossy finish.

Now why do you prefer a clicky d-pad? That's probably the one feature that I find slightly annoying with the XL. If I'm in bed with the wife who is trying to sleep, the clicking annoys her.

I like the tactile feel of "yes, you've pushed this direction" as compared to the loose 360 and Genesis D-pads. It doesn't actually need to audibly click. Also, why are you playing video games in the bed? There are so many better things to do in the bed with the wife.

Maybe the loud clicking buttons gave her a headache.

Trust me, I don't do it too often.

What do people think of the built-in browser that comes with the DSi? Any tips for using it? I was at the car dealer waiting for an oil change and decided to check out some websites. I would get errors like "plugin not available" and "memory too low, you might need to reload the page".

It seems that the browser is not really that useful except for maybe looking up a phone number or finding directions. Thoughts?

The browser is pretty limited, I generally dont use it. If you have a phone capable of the internet, thats generally a better choice. However, its workable considering the limitations, ok for browsing forums or looking something up on google.

I find the DSi browser very poor... a bad choice by Nintendo. When it was a separate application you'd buy that was bundled with a memory expansion card for the GBA slot, the DS Browser was somewhat novel. But time has passed, smart phones proliferated, now it seems really outdated and is an example of 'if you can't do it well, don't do it at all', in my opinion.

I'm still a split mind on if it was a mistake to trade in my DSi towards a DSi XL. The larger screen is great for stylus-heavy games like Picross 3D. But other titles like Dark Void Zero make me miss my smaller DSi- for its lighter weight and the smaller screen which flatteringly sharpened pixel art and seemed a little brighter.
