What's the main system you collect for?
Re: What's the main system you collect for?
I no longer have a good size collection but I buy carts for NES and Genesis mostly. And 360 but that is not really collecting in my mind.

Playstation 2. I just always find something else I want and the collection grows bigger and bigger. I've got close to 300 games on that system now.

My SNES collection has over 170 titles, and my PS2 collection has about 90. Those are my two biggest, and on the SNES I'm actively seeking to purchase all the official releases. I just haven't been able to pick much up lately.

Super Nintendo for me. It's the system I grew up playing and it's still my favorite system to this day.

Genesis/Mega Drive
I'm living in Korea now so I'm picking up Korean variations for some of my favorite titles along with Korean versions for games I didn't already own. The Mega Drive is just beautiful to collect for, especially as its not unreasonable to get games complete.
When I get back to the states for an extended period of time I'm going to clear out a lot of my games. Mostly trimming what I don't play or don't intend to play. First thing to go will probably be old handhelds and accessories that don't get any use. I think I've got a few GBAs I may or may not hold on to. The Game Gear is definitely going to go as is the 32X. The only thing I'd want to play is Knuckles Chaotix, but I remember starting it up once and the image not being clear, or some problem similar. Sega CD will go as well. I've got a beautiful model 1, but I've never once taken it out of the box to even play it. Too pretty for my own good. Genesis crap will get trimmed as well. Saturn is out the door. Never once played it. Dreamcast will get trimmed significantly.
I want to trim everything down so I've got a few select systems with a small number of great games for each. I think my SNES collection is only 3 games and I'm happy with it: Zelda, Super Mario World, and Donkey Kong Country. Funny, I see myself as a Sega fan, but most of what I'll be dumping is Sega stuff. But at the same time, the stuff I have for Nintendo is just a couple of really good first party games that I'm still a fan of.

Even though it doesn't have many valuable titles, I am thinking of getting a Dreamcast again.. I believe it has the best fighting games on it like all three Street Fighter IIIs, Soul Calibur and Garuo: Mark of the Wolves... Back in the day I had a Dreamcast with a bunch of games but mine broke so I just sold the games for an xbox.. Huge mistake on my part and I regret it to this day.. I never even liked my Xbox much..

Re: What's the main system you collect for?
judging by what I have most games for it's going to have to be:
PC
Xbox1
GameCube
in that particular order
no fancy 300+ games, but I've a decent collection of the games I need
albeit when collecting I mainly try to find GameCube games these days

Sega Saturn and Sega Genesis. I'm not super-partial to much of anything else.

NES and SNES. The ones I have the best memories playing with my friends and families. After that it would be Gameboy and PC.
