Best Games Set in the Ol' West

So I am still logging in some serious hours into Red Dead Redemption, and I still love it. I have never enjoyed a Rockstar Game like this before. Usually, I get pretty bored with the endless violence and driving. But RDR is different.

I'm not a huge fan of the GTA games. The closest I come to enjoying them is something like China Town Wars, and even that one bores me on some level. However, they did release a little game called Bully, which I found to be more enjoyable.

I feel like everyone is thinking "Call of Juarez" but nobody is saying it.

I never got into that game. Not bad, but nothing really amazing either. I should try the new one, I heard they did a better job. Better than Gun anyway.

For me, the first Call of Juarez was hit or miss. I absolutely loved the way the world looked, especially when you first start the game and enter that town. That level where you have to hunt rabbits was one of my favorites. I just wandered for a while. But Billy's other levels, especially the stealth...it wasn't nearly as fun as blowing away sinners as the preacher.

I really want to play the second game though. I've heard the areas are a lot bigger, and I'm interested in how they turned out.

Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist

Freddy Pharkas used to be a lawman, one of the best shots in the West, until an unfortunate scrape with a villain (who, in Sierra fashion, looks more than a bit like company president Ken Williams) leaves him with a wounded ear and a crippled sense of pride.
