in the sega ages/sega classics ps2 remake (not a port) it is wise to use the brake because you might not be able to dodge some cars on tricky corners. also try to dodge at the last moment, because you might drive through a turn before you even get to overtake another car.
In the Arrange mode, whenever one rival overtakes you, more might overtake so be sure to keep to the side a bit. Good luck!

Don´t have any tips on Outrun2sp, just find out where you really need to drift and where not.

Yeah so I realize now how terrible I am at the game, but I do love playing it. Everyone needs to experience Outrun in the arcade atleast once in their life.

it's easy to be terrible at it. I have beaten it once, I believe my path was LEFT everytime until the last fork. Not sure if certain paths are easier than others?

I did a little better going right, right, right, etc. this morning on the SMS version. I'm learning to make effective but sparing use of the brake on some of the later stages. Basically, I go all out on Stage 1, start letting off the gas on Stage 2, and then use both a release of the gas pedal and the brake (depending on the curve) on some of the later stages. I've made it to the turn JUST before the final stage (stage 5), and would have made it if I hadn't crashed in Stage 3.

The game is equal parts fun and infuriating, and hopefully I'll get it beat tonight if I get a chance to try again. After that I'll try the PS2 Sega Ages remake before tackling Outrun 2019 and Outrun 2006.

For those of you who will also be playing other games in the series - is it worth trying to hunt down Outrun 2 if I have Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast? Also, what do people think of the XBLA/PSN release in the series - is it worth the $10 if I have Outrun 2006?

As far as I saw, OutRun Online is the same game as OutRun 2SP, and OutRun 2SP is in OutRun 2006. So, probably it's not worth it.

I'm pretty certain everything in 2 is included in 2006, the menus are way nicer too.

Cool, then I guess I'll save my $10. I picked 2006 up on Steam last year for very cheap, so I'll be playing it later this month.

I'm terrible at drifting in 2006. On a race, it's fine, I make sharp turns perfectly, but I can't get a decent score in the drifting challenges.
