Anyone see any new info on this? Do we know if they will just be the plain old games or will there be more?

They are starting to show up on Steam right now. Altered Beasts, Comix Zone, and Shadow Dancer are up. I hate to sound cheap, but $3 is too much for Altered Beasts on a DD service. I could buy a sturdy, long lasting cartridge for that much.

It doesn't look like there is anything more. Golden Axe just got added and it appears to only have local multiplayer. An online multiplayer component would have been the one thing these titles could have done to make them better than emulators. As far as I can tell, the only thing that makes these re-releases better than ROMs is that they are legal.

Actually, the more I think about this, the more it bothers me (not that I shouldn't be bothered mind you). See, I have made it a rule to not pirate games that are currently easily accessible on the retail market. This means I don't pirate new games, but I have a sizeable portion of my hard-drive devoted to ROMs and ISOs from older systems. I've always kind of rationalized this by saying that I couldn't get those games anymore, and even if I did, the money didn't actually go back to the game developers, just to the secondary market.

Now, here is Sega, giving me the option to buy the same games I have had emulated for years. Do I buy them because I have enjoyed them freely for so long? Why would I buy something already in my possession? The fact that Sega is not adding anything to them to make the deal more enticing adds to the frustration because now I have to wrestle with the fact that I am being inconsistent. It's essentially the same product only one is legal and one is not. I don't emulate games on the market, but for once the game I was emulating already, is now on the market. Sega has forced me to break my own rule unless I pay $3 for each game I already own or delete the ROM from my computer. I don't really want to spend $3 for each ROM, but I don't want to break my rule either. Ah! Stupid morals. Stupid Sega. (>_<) (m)

Maybe if Steam offers a package deal....

Not to mention you can play online if you emulate...

PS.: $4,99 for Sonic 3D Blast? That's beyond ridiculous.

Indeed. I was thinking the same thing if they aren't adding some sort of internet play.

If they were $1 like songs since they're without improvements, they'd sell a lot more and it would be more reasonable IMHO.

They're selling the 11 games for 35 dollars. Wasn't the PS3/360 compilation with 49 games going new for $30?

Thats exactly what I thought.
I think the biggest reason for me to give up my Genesis and Nomad (since I have most of those games anyways) was enhancements.

Complete and utter rip off. Even if they sold the bundle for half price I still wouldn't buy it. Since I can get all these games (AND MORE!!) from the Sega Ultimate Collection for £10 or less. Plus have the benefit of playing them on my TV.

Fuck paying Steam for roms, if I want to give my money to a big corp. it might as well be directly from Sega.
