What games have your favorite graphics/art-design?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

No list of favorite games would be complete without Deus Ex - that game just gets it soo right...Image
This image isn't the best, I'm sure, but I don't know if I noticed that the Statue of Liberty is decapitated in this game before - beat Cloverfield to the punch by at least 10 years!

Vectorman. . . the dude is made of balls

Batman and Robin for genesis. This game is impossible and I never beat the first stage but it was cool looking with all its 3D effects.

Deus Ex? Huh. Great game, but I never thought the graphics were that great, even around the time of its release. Different strokes.

Here's a few others.

Braid:
I love the painterly style of the dreamy backdrops.
Image

Tron 2.0:
They do a good job of recreating the style of the movie, which had a great neon future art style.
Image

P.B. Winterbottom:
I've pre-ordered this game because I like it's silent-movie era motif. Plus, I love pie.
Image

Psychonauts:
Actually, I think some of the character designs are ugly, but that's totally outbalanced by the games sheer originality throughout. Some of the art design for the levels was just surreal. Who can forget the topsy-turvy world of the paranoid schizo security guard in the milkman conspiracy?

I have to say Kennith Scott is my favourite game industry artist. textures and skins for Quake 3 and much more in Doom 3. he's like a mixture of HR Giger and Frank Frazetta.
I like the character design in the Tekken series alot and Soul Calibur.
I also like the Panzer Dragoon Saga art design alot too.
Metal Slug.
Ocelot, did it again...sorry Boss !

The 'graphics' weren't particularly cutting edge when it was released - but they get the job done and put across the awesome art design, gameplay, story, concept etc.- i think that has helped it stand the test of time
