AppleQueso wrote:I've noticed very little change in prices for these games when digital download versions came out. Final Fantasy VII costs about as much as it ever did, same thing with SOTN.
Well SOTN is a bit of a special case since it's different on XBLA, it's missing stuff.

Oh man, I'm glad I grabbed the last copies of God Hand and Siren a while back. And Megaman X Collection is getting rare too? Lucky me.
I still think the PS2 and all it's games will still be around for a lot while longer. And further in the years when the PS2 is breathing it's last breaths, GameStop or any other game store will have a huge sale where they'll be first come first serve buys.
Edit- On another note though, I still see games like Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, go for a whopping $50.

yeah, some games are definitely retaining their value, although I'd say $50 is a little over priced for nocturne, I managed a complete copy for $25 on ebay. Smart move on your part to have held onto the x collection though, I can't find it complete for under $40, and the prices keep going up.
As far as Capcom Vs snk goes, I'm seeing it sell for around $30 dollars, a sharp drop for the $60 or so dollars it was getting before.

The end of a console's lifespan really puts my collector and player mentality at odds. Even though i know that these JRPGS are never going to get cheaper than this, and that if I ever want to play/resell them i have to buy them now.... the player realizes that by and large i hate playing JRPGS. Oh the torment!

I know for a fact that someday good copies of ICO will be worth a mint. It's amazing how people still rave about that game.
And when The Last Guardian comes out, ICO will probably jump up in price once again.
I was very lucky to have stumbled upon my copy for a mere $2. But unfortunately, it didn't have the manual.

I was very lucky to have stumbled upon my copy for $7. Fortunately, it didn't have the cover art.

I was very lucky to stumble on my PAL copy for £12 and it had all the art cards and a perfect cardboard box and sleeve. Booyeah! Got SOTC for £15 brand new with the cardboard case and art cards as well

I'm very lucky or maybe demented to play ICO twice all the way thru and exploring 3rd time for unlocks - U.S. and PAL versions.

All you guys that got Ico for cheap, I wanna punch you all in the faces.
$20 bucks for mine, with ugly US box art, and it didn't even work.

Hang on to it, try another PS2. Some PS2's have troubles reading the U.S. blue CDs
Check out my ICO review below.
