Not to get too political, but you're already paying it.
I'm paying my taxes by working which in turn for state run benefits and health care. I'm very confident that taxes!=medical insurance in cost. Do you not have income tax in your country or something?

@MrPopo, It has nothing to do with getting sick. I could live the healthiest lifestyle ever and then bam, one day get hit by some drunk who didn't pay attention to the traffic lights. Is that my fault now? It is just as likely to happen in the USA than it is in the UK, yet if I nearly die through no fault of my own, I still have to a massive fee at the end of it. In the UK I don't.

Yes, we do have income tax. It's hard to quote a number because of the sliding scale but an approximate ends up being 25% of the gross. Also, I really hope you didn't think my tongue-in-cheek response was serious.

Sorry thought you were being serious.

Yeah, I think I'd be in the paper / on the news if I lost a digit and couldn't get it reattached because I couldn't afford to.

It's absolutely worth $9.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Any problems with VC aside, who the hell doesn't think the game isn't even worth $9?

Ya know, they could have translated it though! They could have charged 2000 points for it and I still would have paid it. Isn't the original version of Rondo on Dracula X Chronicles translated? Lazy sons of bitches!

Now that I've played through the game, I think I'll repost about this.
Flake wrote:I already have the Dracula X Chronicles on PSP, with Rondo of Blood unlocked. I was planning on spending some time with it soon but I've heard that it's an imperfect port.

That said, is it a good enough port or should I nab Rondo of Blood on the VC now that it's out?
I have Dracula X Chronicles too, but I don't enjoy it too much. It's a handheld, and I don't enjoy looking at the small screen much. Furthermore, when I play it on my TV the image doesn't fill the screen which is annoying. And when you play the original version you have the border which is also pretty annoying. That and the fact that the video quality is pretty poor if you ask me. It looks kinda blurry.

That right there is enough reason for me to buy it on VC. I bought Dracula X Chronicles when it came out, it's actually the reason I got a PSP. But I didn't want to play the original Rondo because of what I mentioned above (I wanted a good first experience playing the game).

Rondo on VC looks fantastic. I haven't ever played it on a TurboDuo before, but I can't imagine it looking much better. I'm not sure how it can be an imperfect port. I got 100% on my file and didn't notice anything.

The only downside to the VC version is that it's NOT translated. This really pisses me off. Years later, it seems that we're still getting screwed over with Ronod of Blood. The only translated version is on the PSP, which has the flaws I mentioned above. These flaws completely keep me from actually enjoying playing the game. But, I wish to play an English version. You can see my headache.

And why the hell hasn't this game been fully fan-translated by now!? The only project I know of says it's only 30% done and hasn't been updated since 2005. You'd figure a game like this would be popular enough to have a fan translation already.

If it ever gets a 100% translation, I think that would be the best way to play it. Otherwise, if you ask me, it's choose your poison. I would choose the VC version over the PSP any day, it's only downfall is that it's not translated.

Please excuse the rant.

PS, I think the PSP's version title screen looks really bad. I could have made a better one in MS paint.

edit: I was just playing the 30% translated Rondo with Magic Engine and it's awesome. It runs *perfectly* and looks even better on my monitor than it does on VC. It's a damn shame that it hasn't been fully translated, but I guess I can't blame them, as far as I can see they translated all the text. The only stuff that remains is actual dialog and the graphical text. Granted, I guess it's hard to swap in new voice overs (but couldn't they just add sub titles?) and I guess the graphical text is harder to translate than actual text. Still, a damn shame it's never been fully translated. Magic Engine (or a real TurboDuo) would be the best way to go for sure.
