Yeah, your PS2 collection is amazing. Mine's pretty big at about 90 titles, but yours is just enormous. But I know what you mean. Just because I've got a lot of games, there are many, many more I want to get my hands on.

Rest in Peace Dreamcast.
thats what i was just thinking. the huge success of the ps2 killed the dreamcast. but with that said... could anyone imagine still playing new dreamcast games like we do with the ps2? i think not... so it would seem the better console survived!
Too bad DC didn't hold on as well though, even a small market share to stay alive. Imagine what could have been.

If they 'held on' they most likely would have gone bust and not had the resources (read: Money) to stay as a 3rd party Software dev.

You are right. I finished reading this book a few days ago, a great read. Even at the Dreamcast launch Sega knew PS2 would kill them a year later, a losing struggle to the end. If only though.

But still didn't want to break up Sony birthday party, love both machines and hope PS2 keeps getting more new releases for a 15 year bash!

I will survive

Image

At first I was released
I was petrified
I kept thinking
I could never live with dreamcast and gamecube on the side
But then I spent so many nights
Just thinking how my release party was strong
And I grew strong
I learned how to get along
So now I'm back
From 10 years ago
I just walked in to find ps3 and 360 not doing strong

Oh now here I go,
still so successful
still selling games and releasing madden even more
dreamcast who tried to break me with desire
but where are you now?
Did you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
As long as I know how to play I know I'll be alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
I will survive
I will survive
Yeah, yeah
I will survive
I will survive
Yeah, yeah

Happy Birthday PS2!! :D

I remember buying it with Gran Turismo 3 and how excited I was playing it. The PS2 is an amazing console so many fantastic games especially the selection of RPG's was insane. It is amazing how much this system can do as an entertainment center plays DVD/CD/PS/PS2 games. I own over 100+ PS2 games easily and still buy games for it even now. I got so many hrs. of gaming out of it probably more than any other console I own.

and that is why is so successful. i gave my first PS2 (fat) to my brother, i bought another one for myself but sold it to a friend a year later. then a few years after that i bought another one for myself again (i still have it). PS2 i thought i could live without you, I was wrong.

and if there was a PS2 remix song it would sound like this:

PS2, PS2, 8 dark buttons and two analog sticks
PS2, PS2, 8 dark buttons and two analog sticks

no one quite did role playing titles, like you did
no one quite did 2D/3D fighters, like you did
no one quite did FPS and platformers, like you did
no one quite did racing games like you did
no one quite release so many madden titles, like you did

lyrics inspired by Nathan Barnatt Neo Geo Song.
