Perfect, thanks for the info. GBA version it is then. Now then, SP, Micro, or DS lite? Haha, the choices never end.

GBA SP -- the screen is bigger than the Micro, and it's nice and bright.

Re: Together Retro: Phantasy Star
Bought the game a while back, in the spirit of Together Retro started a new file for this month. Playing the GBA Phantasy Star Collection port. Just got Odin and Myau into my party.
What first captivated me were the 3-D Dungeons. The concept is brilliant. I usually have a piece of graph paper with me when spelunking. I'm busy now, but I'll probably finish it over spring break next week.

If you can find it cheaply, you might want to consider the Sega Genesis Collection for the PSP which is what I have. The graphics are really crisp, better than I can remember for the Genesis. It has save states. You can something like 21 different games including this one.

Is Phantasy Star 1 on that collection? I have it, but don't recall it being included as it was a SMS game. It wasn't one of the unlockables either, was it?

I think dsheimen is right. If I remember, the Genesis Collection for PS2 began with Phantasy Star II as well.

Ahh, my mistake. I looked at the Amazon listing and it appears to have II, III, & IV. I guessed I confused it with the other 1 & 2 games on the compilation. I'll have to check out the GBA rom and if I like it, I'll pick up the physical cart.

the GBA cart is great, honestly. They could have easily released each of these games as seperate GBA carts (a la Final Fantasy Advance, or the Classic NES series, etc) and gotten full price for each.

Re: Together Retro: Phantasy Star
Lord knows I would have paid for them. I still will buy Phantasy Star IV if they release it - no question.
What I would love is a remake all these great old RPGs in either a 32 bit artstyle, ala FFOrgins/Dawn of Souls, or in handdrawn high resolution. Ive taken screens of FFVI and ran them through vectoring programs and ended up with oil painting like results, sadly I do not have a way to take screenshots at 24 frames a second so I can turn it into a video - yet.
Kinda like this quick one I did in the past with FFVI:

Ive learned all the programs alot better since then.

Just something I noticed in the blog post -- a dropped word:
And if that wasn’t enough, the community for Phantasy Star Online is so dedicated that they have created their own servers. Very few titles from ??? can boast that.
