I dont know if this classifies, BUT I often find that if I'm playing an RPG and I get stuck doing a lot of grinding, then I start humming the song "Grinding" by Clipse.

I'm a perfectionist - have to get every item, character, etc. Although I do have limits. Riviera drove me nuts with its infrequent saves and random chests, but I think it was probably healthy in the long-run.

I'm also a powergamer, and in any game with customizable characters (Baldur's Gate, FFT, etc) I'll quite often find myself restarting the game because I've realised my character could be much more powerful if I'd just levelled them up a bit differently.

I'm getting a lot better at both of the above - currently enjoying FFTA in a kind of "Oh well, what the hell" kind of way. Montblanc is a bit of a mess (Jack of All Trades), but everyone else is shaping up nicely enough, if not perfectly.

I stopped playing Riviera because I keep wanting to restart it to get everything.

I can get a little obsessive compulsive with RPGs, searching every little niche for something. I also get worried that if I take a turn into a cutscene and a different area I'll have missed something permanently, even though this is rarely the case. I tend to hoard as well, though not as much in recent years.

I have a problem that if I stop playing an RPG for about a week, I usually never pick it up again. Usually if the game isn't fresh in my mind, I just don't have any desire to come back to it. I've quit games like Breath of Fire like 6 times after starting, because I stop playing and never can get the desire to pick it up again.

I also hate missing items or quests in games. I obsess about making sure I know all the missables in a game, that I sometimes psych myself out of playing it. I still haven't played Lost Odyssey because I don't want to miss any treasure chests.

Same here. I do so much leveling and side quests I forget whats going on. Or I get bored and put it down for a while or in the case of a couple games, not finish at all.

it really depends on the game.. in a game with random encounters (FF/pokemon) i tend to get annoyed with the randomness and start skipping battles after a while

I just checked this thread again and since I haven't read it since I originally posted... I am confused as to what is going on.
Maybe I should start over.
Good thing I have about 4 other threads started that I can focus on...
