I'd be interested in the article too, just for interest's sake.

My system will include far more systems than that - the cart system (system 1) will be expected to house 11 or 12 consoles, and some plug'n'plays too (about 4-8).

Jimmy Yakapucci - no-one said it would be easy! I'll be doing some board trimming, layering one system onto another, extending ports, relocating capacitors and components, etc to keep things flat. I won't have out the dimensions I will need until modded the console boards themselves, but i'm aiming to fit it all into an original PS1 console case if I can, even if it means a bit of modding work to the case too. On guesswork, I think it will be quite possible to fit it all in; the game carts will all go into the case at right angles at the top of the console, as is convention (this could be a handheld but due to weight more likely to be not - again, will work out variations). This is a unique project so I have worked out much of the mechanics but not dimensions, etc yet.

Sorry to derail further, but there's the R2D2 one as well.

Thanks for the link, interesting, hadn't seen that mod before! In contrast, my system will have double the console systems, far smaller container, one controller for all the systems, no projector but an 8" screen. :P

Seem to have created a debate on digitalpress!

Some are saying they use water to clean boards at work (and dishwasher sometimes) and works fine, some prefer alcohol; seems both methods work equally well (in practical way, not "best practice" maybe! :D

Yeh, this would be a good way to clean a VERY dirty console. But I would not risk on on newer consoles, such as the Dreamcast.

No reason not to - if you can do this method on computer boards, even computer motherboards, you can certainly do it on a DreamCast, or Xbox or whatever (just remove fans first).
